Great Mod. Found the wire after having to pull the foam out. And looking for awhile. Placed an extension of about 1 foot and then ran the wire up into the dash . Extended my range about 30 feet from the car. Great Mod but be carefull of the sharp ends as suggested. I used duct tape to cover them and then left the tape in the cubbie when finished.

Yay!! No more staring at the blinking red light like a doofus while trying to get the dang thing to disarm!
Great mod! Watch out for the vegetable slicer, I taped mine.
