I installed mine too yesterday... mounted very easily.
Nicely made and a good value. Tonight (after it cools down) I may run the rest of the wires for the remote display and the switched power. For those with remote displays, where have you been mounting them? Thanks, Q |

Here's where I mounted my V1 remote display. I saw this first in kaz's car and thought it looked great. you have to pull the dash panel and then dremel a hole for it which was a bit scary but I like the result. I tacked it in place from behind with some hot melt glue. Sorry for the fuzzy picture but you get the idea.

I'm going back and forth on mounting in the rear view mirror. I like the concept and would like the cubby hole back, but afraid of too many people following it / CHP officers seeing it. Mark

Finally got my V1 hardwired in this weekend... Thanks Mr. C for the awesome bracket ! Hardest part was getting the damn radio out to tap the +12V, I didn't have the stereo removal tools.
Thank god for coat hangers! I also got a couple cuts on my hands... man those edges inside the dash are SHARP! Anyway, here's pics of the finished product.

Looks good JMY!
I like the idea of having the remote display up high like you installed it. I have mine in the cubby below the light switches, and it is not ideal with respects to visibility, plus it is hard to reach when trying to hit the mute button. I know there are some folks who have cut the plastic panels and integrated it in there. But I'm just not ready yet to cut parts off the car... How did you route the wire from the remote display to the back? Did you run it back underneath the center console? I ran mine under the sill cover and behind the black rear panel. All you can see is a very short wire between the sill cover and the rear panel, and a short piece from behind the rear panel to the V1. I took a tie strap and strapped that part of wire to the bracket, and it stays in place nicely. Now that your hands are already all cut-up you might as well go ahead and extend the range of the key remote. That was by far the worst for me. My hands looked like I was wrestling with a herd of cats...

I saw the remote mount in Kaz's car here too and that is where I ended up putting mine as well, I just ran the wire under the sill cover. I also got the V1 mount from Steve, it matches the theme of our car well and is a great value:

Mr C and I traded a Front clam protection kit for a V1 aluminum mount. I received the mount this weekend, but it does not work with my BWR harness bar with camera mount. It will work without the camera mount, but I use the camcorder a lot, so I cannot take it off.
Anyway, it is an awesome piece, and I wish I could have used it. |

Here are some pics. No drilling necessary. The only problem is that you are limited on height adjustment. The camera mounted in these pics looks like it my be too high. My little digital camera (that I used to take these pics) works perfect.

I'm glad the bracket worked out for you as a camera mount... It should be possible to drill a hole in the bracket for the mounting screw if someone likes to. I kept the rib in the center of the mounting surface a little wider just for that reason. Steve |

The clam protection kit came in today! A very functional piece which will just make me feel a little better going up driveways or over speed bumps when they are boarderline and you don't know for sure whether they are going to scrape your clam or not... |
