Guys and gals,

I need to move out kits to make room for the new kits coming in. The new kits will have improvements over the current kits (integrated tabs into the ballast bodies so no bracket is necessary, 5 additional watts bringing the total to 55watts which yields slightly more lumens, and I think the initial current draw is further reduced), but the blowout of the older kits will have a price that reflects this.

So....whatever I have left in inventory of the old kits will be $310 shipped.

I believe I have 2 kits of each in 4500K, 5000K, 6000K and 8000K for '07 Elise/Exiges

For '05/'06, I have 5000K, 6000K, and 8000K.

First come, first served.

And, no, I do not sell the harness by itself. I see some recognize the quality but don't want to pay for it and it takes me time to had cut the wires and crimp the terminals and assemble the harness.

Regards,
Chester

I still haven't installed the (universal) HID kit that I received as a present and am actually more interested in one of your 8000K kits since it's probably a better quality product. Since I'm not too far from Brooklyn, would you include installation it for me if I drove over to your location? Please PM me when you get a chance. Thanks!

Get my PM Chester? Let me know when you can do an install and if you've got an 8000K kit for an 05 Elise!

Question

I may be interested in the 8000K for an '06. I've never done this before. Honestly, how difficult would this be undoing everything and hooking these up for the first time?

Just takes some time... really not that difficult overall. Chester's kit is top notch!

I got my kit today, and had everything installed and going on a test drive within 3.5 hours. The lighting is so much better than stock. I also replaced the daytime lights with superbright LED's, and they look great also.

Only thing I ran into that isn't covered in the instructions, is on the passenger side I had some electrical box riveted to the top of the wheel well lining, that I had to disconnect to remove the lining.

Thanks ekological, your kit made it very easy!

Out of curiosity, which LED's did you get? Any pics? I'm thinking of doing the same on mine, when I install Chester's 6000K kit he sent me...

That's part of the alarm. Mine was just hanging there.

I just got a set of these early for my birthday. I must say that Chester's harnesses are things of beauty. Simply stunning! Way to go!

I had Osram Silverstars before, which were a huge upgrade from stock, and these are a night-and-day difference from that. Highly recommended!

These are the LEDs i got for my running lights...
http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html
the "WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs". The ones with LEDs sticking out to the sides. Just pull stock bulb out, and put these in.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is an HID? All I know is that its something to do with lighting and that a speed/performance shop tried to persuade me to get one from them.

Isn't there an official, i.e., from Lotus, kit?

HID = High Intensity Discharge. In other words, xenon lighting. The factory does not offer such a thing. But, I can tell you that Chester's kit is amazing. Even a huge difference from upgraded halogen bulbs.

So would installation of this kit ruin the warranty?

Probably not. But, from what I've learned, any modification can potentially void the warranty if Lotus wants it to. For the most part, though, if would think Lotus would most likely void maybe a portion of the electrical system or something like that. But, in theory, there are a number of ambiguities through which they can/try to deny a warranty claim.

As does mine. Unfortunately, portions of mine apparently ended prior to that. (I'm not trying to bash or air dirty laundry.)

Chester - aka "Ekological" - has made a truly plug and play HID kit. Very high quality, using factory plugs to connect to the factory harnesses. A class act. Check this thread for info:
Now available: Complete Elise HID kits

Mine, although an '06, was purchased just a few months ago, so I've got almost 3 years on the warranty.

Maybe what I was thinking of is that HRM has their own HID kit. I'll ask when I bring it in for service.

just installed my ekological HID's - huge BUMP for Chester!!!

the kit is amazing, real factory like harnesses (snap click water tight), you connect the hid lamp connectors into factory water tight connectors - non of the "re-using the old thin wires and crimp connectors"

top quality through out! - i thought the instructors were a little confussing but i am not all that smart sometimes... and hey - at least you get instructions!! pretty straight forward as far intercepting the factory harnes, and installing the new hid harness in line and then pluging the hid lamp into the hid harnes and re-attach al lthe other lights as they were - brilliant!

Thanks man!

if you want something "done right" spend the little extra and get this kit!

BUMP!

i just went out for a drive and used my Ekological HID headlights. BUMP for a true plug and play HID kit, Lotus OEM connectors and top notch fit throughout. I wish every mod was like this. I got the 6k lights and can see so clearly.
