Unhappy oh help me someone ,please need wiring help due to mouse!

hi there, i'm new to this site, and new to getting under the cover of my elise111s. ive had the car for sometime, but over the last 2 years it has been off road and is in a bad way due to neglect.
during this time a wee litle mouse got in and nibbled his way thorough many wires. does anyone out there know how to get the dashboard off so i can have a look and asses the extent of the damage up close? this pic somes up exactly how i feel!

Do a search about how to download shop manual for $25 (US) from official Lotus site. But, there may be a diff version for England.

Vicky,

I notice you're in Shropshire. You probably want to post on www.seloc.org or www.midlandslotus.co.uk

These guys have a raft of information plus you;re very likely to have some locals who can pop buy to see the problem and give you best advice.

Good lick with getting it fixed and back on the road.

All the best

Andrew

Are you being rude Andrew?
Or under the impression that the dashboard is held on with some waterbased adhesive?

From the European S2 manual (but SELOC is still you best source for information about the non-US version of the Elise):

Tim, I think if we just ask all the right questions we could get you to attach a copy of every page of the manual to answer them. Gotta tell you, you're pretty awesome.

It really is easier to simply buy a copy of the manual from LCU for the $25. There's a lot of information in there.

The sections above are from a S2 manual that I bought prior to getting my Elise (about 2 year prior), because I wanted to read up on the "internals" before I actually got one. I also have a copy of the S1 manual. Heck, I even have a copy of the original B-17 (my all time favorite aircraft) manuals, but only in hard copy.

Yes, I'm a geek.

Yes, the Lancaster ranks right up there. It was another plane that took a beating and kept on flying through the worst that they could throw at it.

i don't envy you the chewed harness. i've had problems with mice/squirrels/chipmunks at times, on my old dodge caravan.

i usually buy the service manual if i'm seriously considering purchasing the vehicle.
TIM...you weren't considering buying your own B-17???

I wish...

I couldn't even afford to fill the tanks. One of these days I'm going to figure out (mostly afford it) how get a ride on the B-17 that the Confederate Air Force flys.

I've been in their B-29, but not flown in it. I did get to go for a very fun ride in a T-6 Texan - WWII trainer.
