The stebel along with some driving lights I bought are still sitting in a box waiting to be installed. Unfortunatelly this weekend is out again for work on the car as I'm leaving for a business trip Sunday morning.

Well, I took a quick look yesterday and it seems like I might be able to access the horn by removing the bottom panel.
For what I can tell I think it mounts here. I'm hopping I don't have to remove the whole front clam, although it might make things easier. Edit: BTW griot states 139 db is at 4 feet not inches, but their site in italy states 4 inches, 115 db at 6 feet, so that is loud enougth. Apogee, I wish you took picts of your intall, but thanks for the heads up on the 10 amp fuse and your install procedure. I'll do it this weekend and I'll try to take picts. Anyone knows if this is the right spot?

Perfect horn
Quote:
the client's permission. It is not necessary to remove the front clam. Just remove the right front wheel and front wheel arch, followed by the front undertray. The stock horn is on the right side as shown in your picture, I installed the air horn 10 to 12'' behind the stock location using a longer bolt thru the metal bracket to give it more support, just extend the wires and refuse. It's good to see you guys working on your own cars. All The Best, Don Paul

------------------ (click click) means copy, roger, understood. Comes from radio talk instead of actually saying it, they just tapped the mic twice to acknowledge. Since it's the same sound of the camera I thought I used it, but then I had to explain, therefore the babel ![]() I used to play warbirds a lot (WWII onine flight sim with hundreds of people at a time), and we used it quite a bit. Don't ask me why it just came out to surface in my mind. Haven't played since 96.

Perfect airhorn
Hi Miguel,
I just wanted to add more detail to the the horn install process, the hole I used to mount thru is the oil cooler to crash structure bracket, use the lower hole. I pointed the trumpet down, so no water problems. The stock horn is fairly light, you may want to leave it where it is. ........... Have Fun. Don Paul.

Well, it's done and it sounds great!
I went to my friend Jeff to work on his garage (he has all kinds of tools where I have almost none, and he is more knowledgeable than I would ever hope to be on cars). I forgot to take my camera with me and his son took his truck (where his digital camera was) so I only have pictures after the install before placing the tire covers and the bottom panel back in place. We jacked the car on the middle jacking point to raise both right tires and placed a jack stand on the front right tire, that gave us enougth clearance to work under. We removed the bottom panel, took out the front right tire and the plastic cover in front of the tire. Also we took off the fuse (7.5amps 2nd one from upper right I believe) The original horn (Mixo TR99, french made, same as the low horn the TVR-S uses) was mounted right in front of the front right oil filter, it was a pain to get to that bolt but with patience we were able to unmount it. It's pretty light so if you don't mind the extra weight and don't need the space you can leave it there. I wanted the Stobel to face forward since that area is really dry, it's been raining a lot here and there was no moisture at all. Anyway the other horn had to go. Since I wanted the horn to face forward I drilled a hole in the crash structure to mount it. If you don't mind the horn facing down, you can use the lower mount bolt that holds the oil filter to the crash structure as apogee sugested. The wiring wasn't too long so we had to make extenders and wrapped the connectors with heat shrink tubes. The negative was the black cable, the other one (purple I think) one was the positive. To cover the connector at the horn, we used a 67-69 camaro clutch push rod boot since it was the only thing we had available to protect the connectors in case water got there. Then placed silicone so that it's water tight. But I don't think that will be a problem since that area seems to be well protected from water, but just in case. Taking out the original horn is what took most of the time, followed by finding some rubber cover for the connectors was the 2nd longer task. Well maybe finding one of the screws that jumped behind a box was the 2nd most consuming part. I'll post pictures after I resize them.

Red arrow points where Apogee mounted his facing down.
Blue arrow points where I drilled to mount mine straight up. This pict is taken from the tire side, that area is cover by a plastic cover in front of the right front tire.

This is a picture after it's installed, before plugin the boot hole with silicone. If it gives me trouble getting water inside (I doubt it) I can always rotate it downwards like the original one.
Actually the original one was facing down and back and the connectors didn't have + or - markings.

Sorry forgot the picture
![]() We only had a 20 amp spare fuse, so I have to go the auto store and pick up a 10 amp one. Of course we did test the horn to make sure everything was ok. Sounds great and loud ![]()

I forgot, I'm going to get a bigger washer for better support. I don't think it will be a problem but since this horn is heavier than the original a bigger washer should be enought to hold it without problem to the crash structure.
If you want to be on the safe side, use the mounting point that Don (Apogee) used.
