Proxel Electromagnetic Parking System

Hi Im thinking to get and Elise R in Asia where tight parking and extensive parallel parking are a must. So I was researching for parking sensors that wont destroy the look of the rear clam by adding dots of ultrasonic sensors, and i found this http://www.proxel.com/ they make a parking sensor that requires no visible sensors to the exterior and no drilling. I would like to know has anyone installed this to their Elise? Would putting right above the exhaust be too hot and melt the sensor strip?

Pretty safe bet... you'll probably be the first.

Let us know how it goes -- and please post pics!

That's great for you.

But what about other drivers hitting your car in those tight spaces?

Sorry to sound negative...but I parallel parked one time...in a spot with plenty of room.

It cost me (read. my insurance company) 15k$.

I never park parallel. The Elise has no bumpers. Exempted. Some other car bumping yours, as they would any other car, could easily result in damage that Lotus would say: Replace the clam. $10,000 and up.

My car got tapped so lightly that the other car didn't even have a mark that penetrated the dirt on the bumper. I had $5,000 worth of damage.

I won't parallel park anymore.

Im surprised that not many forum members has parking sensors, Not that we are bad parker but this is just for safety caution since there is really no rear visibility!

Well in Hong Kong where im going to move back to basically everyone has parking sensors everywhere, front & rear... god even taxis and delivery vans has parking sensors, and also people are usually pretty careful about theirs and other ppls car because a car is really not a necessity its usually total luxury car counting even a civic ...etc

Im actually more scared about parked on the street and ppl walking around it...

My daily is a F-350, when I first heard of "parking sensors" I thought they were a bit girly. I have them on my truck and I have saved so much frustration parking it where it really does not belong.
Hope to hear more info about this.
