I contacted Thomasio late last week to place an order for a battery and bracket. He happened to have one in stock and I received it today and swapped it out for the original stock Exide battery. This was the easiest 15.5 pound weight reduction I've made on the car and it looks great. This bracket setup is better designed than the factory clamps and will make it easier to get the battery tech inspected prior to driving events. I guess time will tell how the Odyssey holds up, but the bracket sure isn't going anywhere.

So for the price of a new PC60, you can get this battery plus this bracket.
I think my PC680 is beyond saving, so this might be a nice alternative for the price.

Thanks for the review Scott! Kevin (NCI) does phenomenal work... we are honored to be working with him. The quality of his stuff is off the charts, both from a manufacturing standpoint and an engineering standpoint.

It's really only a $34 difference. $120 for the Odyssey versus $86 for the Tempest.

Finally got around to installing it. I'm not sure if it's safe to use lock washers on the battery terminals

my pc680 battery and bracket got a ride in a stohr f1000 formula race car today.one of my customers was running his race car at pir today.when i showed up the car was not running.he is using a volt freaks 2lb battery that decided to freak out and start discharging itself.so we pulled my battery and bracket from my car and installed it.the area this has to fit into is very small and barely fit.but it saved the day.i guess on these volt freaks batteries.if they start flashing and beeping you have to send it in.what do you do then?well he is getting one of my brackets and a pc680 for backup when this happens.

Wow - that's really nice. I missed this thread.

I had the Braile and didn't have much luck from it. I hear these are great.
