Another thing to consider is that if they dont lock on the front they can always wait for you to pass and tag the rear plate which works equally as well.. its not taught as much in training but it does work.
He is correct with the front and the cop was lucky. The darker the color the less reflective it is. You can put a light smoke on the front lights and that would help.

LAIDAR is a very visual technology with in 200 Yards, So look when you speed. RADAR can pick a lanes and pick the faster car to lock you. That is when the V1 is the best hands down.

I got a ticket with my V1 because my Stereo was too lound and I was not paying attention.

I got NASCAR'ed from a plane going to SB and If I was in my Elise with the top off that would of helped. Funny to see a CHIP in a airplane uniform in court.

I have my V1 on all the time when I'm runnin the highways... and it's the best detector I've ever used... "sees" them like 2 miles out. If you get lazered tho, it's all over, 'cause that's instantanious.

I think that the V-1 is the best outdated detector that money can buy and won't buy another one until it has a GPS based system for alerts on scameras and falsing.

Remote display and volume, arrows and the ability to program the detector are the reasons that I won't buy anything else.

The cops around here are getting a little more sneaky with laser. Each time my V1 has given me warning as I was being tagged, but without any advanced warning at all. As soon as the V1 goes off, I've seen a cop hiding on the other side of a center median wall or behind a sign. Keep in mind that laser must be stationary and not shot through glass, which limits it's use to bonafide speed traps. They're using a lot of motorcycle units for solo traps and a lot of radio tag-teams with a laser operating officer tagging and then notifying other units to make the stop. Most cops are still lazy enough to simply cruise around using K or Ka band radar allowing plenty of time to slow down. The times I've been hit with instant-on radar, I've seen the cruiser and slowed down before the detector went off simply meaning I spotted him before he was close enough to pull the trigger. Moral of the story, speed smartly and be aware of your surroundings.

V1 and Blinder

I swear by this set-up! I drive 15.mph plus over everyone out there, and with these BOTH on and some quick reactions, there isn't a cop in the world that will catch you.. Just make certain to turn the Blinder off immediately.

Another issue with the calibre is that you only get two leds for warnings as opposed to the myriad of info the V1 gives.
So with the flush mount options that have an active defense against Laser which is the best option? It seems now days V1 or any other radar detection system only lets you know your getting pulled over. Least with a Jamming system with integrated radar you can get tagged and react accordingly while they take a second shot.

An active radar jammer is seriously against the law. If the V1 had such an output, what would you hook it to? I'd have to look it up, but dim memory says you could be looking at $5,000 fine and a year in jail.

If you have such a jammer, do us all a favor and don't drive near airports. The LAX airspace radars have been said to track speeders at 120 MPH in the hills. Since they don't squawk mode-C, they are ignored.

He is talking about Laser "shifting". Not radar jamming. It is not illegal under Federal law to shift or disrupt Laser. Some states including CA have outlawed Laser Shifters, but that does go state by state.

My V1's saved me a bunch of times and has paid for itself already. The other night I got hit by a laser deflection which is rare. It was enough to make me slow down as the cop sped off to pull over the car that was speeding in front of me.
