The Library.
The Library, objectives and how to make contributions
The Library is a additional repository for information that appears on EliseTalk. People will visit the Library before asking a question and will quickly find answers. People can always post a question if the answers are not to be found. The information in the Library has several objectives: 1. It is the best the EliseTalk community has to offer. 2. It is complete and easy to understand. 3. It is easily found. 4. it is concise and without chatter. It is easy to contribute to the library. Write great posts! These posts will be recognized and copied into the library. The original post will remain, along with all the comments it generates. Later posts on a specific Library topic, perhaps occuring in other threads, will be appended if significant additonal information becomes available. The Library is moderated. In order to meet the objective of being concise and without chatter, the threads containing contributions to the library will be severely edited. You can always visit the original thread if you want to see all the talk but the entry in the Library will stick to the pertinent information. The Library attempts to be easy to read, without questions and compliments. Editing will not be perfect but hopefully the resulting trimmed thread will meet the above objectives. Please bring significant content errors or significant missing content to the attention of the moderators. There will be threads that contain significant information that need to be in the Library. Unfortunately some of these will contain additional words that are not on the specific topic, are about another issue, or are responses to earlier questions. The moderators do not have time to edit the individual posts to remove superfluous information and as a result, the desired content will not make it into the Library. It is hoped these gems will be re-written by a member of the community and contributed as another post without the off-topic words. This new thread or post will make it into the Library. Please nominate content if you have found it helpful. Please bring errors to our attention. You can send nominations to me with a private message (PM). Michael |
