I miss the Blaupunkt

I very rarely listen to the stereo in my car, but I couldn't wait to get rid of my Acapulco-

Now, I miss all things I took for granted- Mostly, the clock that's displayed on the big LCD with the unit is in standby (turned off)- Also, the preset buttons were easy to read-

I'm going back to simplicity-

Any suggestions?

...the newest JVC single-DIN KD-AVX77 looks to have solved a lot of their first-generation usability problems - pretty capable while keeping simple and clean...

...personally, though, i'm still most endeared with the becker grand prix to complement our cars' basic interior control scheme...

Might you be interested in a Jensen with fold-out DVD? JK, I wouldn't recommend my current setup to anyone- I guess I got what I paid for!

I see what you're saying about the Becker, and funny you should mention the El Kameleon- I've been eye-balling these units for a while, and while I love the way it looks, and "disappears", the first version is not very user-friendly-

So, when the new one came out I inquired to JVC about displaying the time when the unit is in stand-by mode (HU off / ingnition on)- It's not an option, an when you think about it, the idea kinda contradicts the whole kameleon concept- BTW: I was impressed with how quickly they responded to my email- Oh well, I'll get over the clock thing, and I'll probably end up with the JVC-

Thanks for the feedback-
