Iphone compatible Blau cable?

Anyone know of a cable that works with the Iphone for the factory Blaupunkt MP54 radio?

I connected my iPhone to the Parrot and Alpine units I had using the standard USB cable. Is there any reason why this isn't working for you?

The MP54 as delivered only has line-level inputs. The cable with the appropriate square connector does not come with the unit though, you'll have to order it separately. You choose between RCA inputs or a stereo 3.5mm jack.

They also make a separate iPod adapter, but I've never seen it. Seems like a lot of work finding stuff using only a two line display. I also heard that the adapter doesn't work with some of the newer iPods, but there may be an update by now.

I already have the cable that plugs into the AUX on the back of the headunit and it works (doesn't charge it though) with my 5th gen Ipod video as well as an old Ipod mini I had laying around. It doesn't however work with my iphone 3G. When I plug it in I get an error message on the iphone saying this accessory is not compatible.

Confirmed - mine does the same. AFAIK, that is the only Blaupunkt iPod cable available so we are SOL

blaupunkt ipod cable

i ordered the genuine blaupunkt cable from crutchfield, part no. 0231ipodcbl. $26.98 with shipping.
plugged it in and it works well.
charges the ipod, too.
naturally, i will disconnect it when i stop the car because the ipod goes wherever i go.
i had to enable another AUX IN in the radio menu to make it work.
i removed the heater/AC panel and threaded the cable up through the cable hole to the radio.
remove the little bakelite piece just under the radio for access.

Works with the iPhone 3G? If so, it is a different version from the one I have (bought 3 years ago). When I plug that one in, I get an error message on the phone, it doesn't charge, and while I will hear whatever song was playing at the time, I can use neither the controls on the iPhone nor the ones on the head unit to change tracks or pause.

It works fine with my Gen 2 nano, though.

i probably have the earlier version. sorry.

a PS to my earlier post, when i went to use my car later in the day, it wouldn't start. the battery seemed dead.
i did all the tests and found that, in fact, the battery had died, the battery became open and wouldn't take a charge.
current draw from the car was only about 50 to 100 ma. intermittantly.
normal.
replaced battery, all good.
i sure was wondering what i had screwed up when attaching the ipod cable.
jokes on me.

He's probably talking about it working with his ipod not his iphone. I also have the $20 dollar cable I bought from Crutchfield. I get the same error message but mine won't even play any songs, simply does not work. It works with my old Ipod Mini I had laying around that I keep in the car.

My gf just got a 09 Mini Cooper S with an ipod cable and when we connect the original and my 3G iphone we get the error message but it does charge both phones and gives full control from both the phone and radio.

Yes, if you read my initial post I said that my regular ipods work just fine but not my iphone. I've been running an Ipod mini via the aux1 port for nearly a year.

i get the same message ("not a compatible accessory") on my 3G iphone with my Alpine CDA-9887 head unit (and it doesn't charge) but, when you dismiss the message, the unit works perfectly. This is a common message, ususally just because there may be some interference if you dont put the iphone in flight mode. However, I have had no interference..

the 3G iphone does not work at all with the Crutchfield available Blau cable for the MP54. The 3G iphone requires more juice for charging than the old phone or ipods so apple changed how that works (USB only no firewire charging available IIRC).

It will be up to Blau to come up with a new one and I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. I was at least hoping to charge the phone while driving if needed...

Apple Iphone 3GS and Motorola T505

You don't need a cable with the Iphone 3gs. It works great with bluetooth fm transmitters. The music comes thru nice and loud and the telephone part works great too and I have a stage II exhaust. Absolutly no problems with conversations as long as i'm not running thru the gears.

iphone 3.0 supports bluetooth stereo streaming now so the bluetooth adapter for the bluapunk might now work? Had one in my old car but not my new one so can't say for sure.

I installed the Crutchfield/Blaupunkt cable today. My generation 4 nano iPod works, but doesn't get charged. Do other models of iPods get charged through this cable....like maybe the more expensive 120gb iPod Classic?

Thanks.

My 5th generation Ipod video charges via that cable as does my old Ipod Mini. It still doesn't charge my Iphone 3G (not 3gs) even after the firmware update.
