Question make the light show stop

The light show on the display is even worse than the sound coming from the Acapulco.

I don't know if it's stuck in demo mode or something, but leave it alone for about 15 seconds and it starts changing colors and flashing though a bunch of features. Any button or volume change brings it back to the plain, amber face I configured. 15 seconds later it's back in demo mode. How do I make it stop?

Also, there is a setting for day and night brightness but it's not selectable from the face plate. Must be some input that's not connected. Anyone know how/where to wire it?

Click on menu, use the up and down arrows on the left dial to navigate to misc/user setting menu (it's the last one.) Use the right/left arrows to change settings and navigate the submenu to turn off the graphics and bar display. I have mine set so that it only shows the clock/station on radio mode and track number and track time on CD mode. If you still have problems PM me and I'll gladly go through the process on the phone with you.

I had the same issue with my dad's car. He figured out that if you hold the menu button down for a few seconds, it will turn it off.

No, not just a few seconds. To turn off the display mode, hold down the menu button for four seconds until the demo mode shuts off, then release. Per users' manual.

(And four seconds to turn it back on -- but Lord knows why except to annoy someone enough that they want to get out of your car sooner.

Hey, that's it!! That's the only logical explanation for why it's there!! )

AAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhh.

The 4 second rule. Gets you every time.

The bling bling light show is gone, and somehow it doesn't sound so bad (sitting in my garage, engine off, top on...)

Thanks

Or... if you have a 6 and 8 year old who happen to like the goofy pictures and especially the changing colors while driving down the road...

Thank you again...

OMG Thank you. The light show was driving me insane. My sister was driving in front of me at nite and remarked that my car looked like it was changing the color of its headlights or something.

She said "It looked like you were doing something freaky in there. If I was a cop I would pull you over asap."

Geeze.. I just sat in the garage for an hour with the Blaupunkt manual trying to get that to stop. Should have looked here first.

SO ANNOYING.... they should turn this off before delivering a car...

Hehe - saved me too...

When I got my '05 I guess the guys at Scottsdale had already turned this "feature" off, but with the '06 it was playing the lightshow all the time. A quick search revealed this thread, and now my seizures have abated. Thx...
