New spot for amp
So far people have put the amp in the passenger footwell (where I want to put sub), behind passenger seat (needs amp 1.5 inch thick or less), behind driver seat (I have to slide seat forward too much for my 5'11" height and 2.4" thick alpine pdx-5, tried it), behind firewall liner on driver side (adds to driver noise with foam removal, preferred extra weight on passenger side, and my Zeitronix is there), on back shelf (begs to be stolen, and lose back shelf), and in the trunk (bad idea if you have tilt clam).
So I stuck the Alpine PDX-5 in the recess behind firewall liner on passenger side. It fits with about 2 cm to spare in all directions. Put a hundred miles on it in the heat, no overheat situation. The bracket was difficult to make but a second one would be easy. It attaches to the passenger rollbar upright at the base and at the midpoint as well as the car chasis just in front of firewall. Seriously solid. Im not sure it will work with stock seat belts, mine are removed because of harness. After reinstall of rear panel liner it looks completely stock, no sign of an amp (except for the music volume).
