Nice write up. I didn't know that panel popped out so easily.
I kind of wish that I installed my Sirius and Ipod adapters there instead of cramming them into the dashboard on either side of the radio. My way made the radio a very, very, very tight fit.

Excellent write up! It brought back many memories when I saw that picture with the feet hanging out of the roof!
Who's Bulldog? I have a 4 year old that is identical markings to the one in the picture too... Bruce ![]() |

Jackie the Bulldog is a little 2 year old. She's Chad's (my friend who did the install).
Hollywood. You bet that looks like your install! I talked to you a year ago when I was getting ready to do the initial installation for just the N2. You were a good help, thanks again.Bill Last edited by steadicam : 04-03-2006 at 05:56 PM. |

Reviving this post since I couldn't find what I was looking for via search.
Considering getting an Avic N1/2,or 3 + the optional reverse camera for the Elise. What I haven't been able to find is information on where to connect the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) wire of the Avic. Did you connect yours? Does anyone have info on where this is on the Elise? Also curious, where did you install the Avic brain? Thanks! |

The answer is: You don't need it. The GPS does just fine on its own, so there's no need to install it.
Why cannibalize the wire harness for this device? We didn't cut any of the vehicles wire harness at all! As for the module, it's under the dash, zip-tied to the main unit. Very crowded under there! Bill |

The GPS antenna AND the XM/Traffic antenna are located right next to each other inside the car on top of the dash wedged into that tiny little "nook" on the far right side where the windshield meets the dash. They are RIGHT UNDER the end tip of the windshield wiper. The wiper doesn't seem to affect their reception. Hope that helps. I'll try to get a picture up.
