Removing Alpine flip-screen head unit

So, I bought my car used, and it came with an Alpine flip-screen head unit. Aside from it being way too much for this car (IMO), but it also does not clear the wiper stalk.

How could I go about removing this? I know with the stock head unit it's a matter of pulling it out with the "wire tool". I do not have the wire tool and am not really sure how to approach this. I sold the head unit, so I'll need to get this done pretty soon.

Probably need a set of these - any car audio shop should have some and you can pull it in the parking lot (also come with new Alpine head units).
