Thanks to Chuck Risen and Jim Clayton, I now have a decent stereo

A few months ago I received my sub box from Chuck and a pair of 5.25" front adaptors from Jim. I had been meaning to install them, but I wasn't able to locate an Alpine PDX5 amplifier. For some reason, they were out of stock everywhere I checked for months. On Friday, I was driving through southwestern Virginia and knew I would be passing one of Crutchfield's two retail stores, so I called and was surprised to discover they had one amp in stock.

Yesterday morning, I called local shops asking if anyone had time to install the system. I found a good shop ~30 miles from home and headed over there immediately. I arrived at 1030. Due to my poor planning and my wife being out of town, I ended up waiting while they installed the parts I provided as well as speakers I bought from them. Thirteen and a half hours later, I was on my way home.

Here are some poor images of the system, but rest assured it looks great and sounds fantastic. I'm very grateful to both of the EliseTalk members who made this possible by producing products for the community that large companies wouldn't dare tackle with such a limited market.

Jim and Chuck, my hat is off to you both.

Did the installers know you can't get the battery out now?

Do you know that I can? The battery cover and amplifier are bonded together with two 3" strips of Velcro running the entire width of the amplifier.

Looks amazing.
Everything I've seen by Chuck has been awesome. Can't wrong with JL audio either, great stuff. Very nice setup.

Hmm... I don't know that I'd trust Velcro to keep the amplifier in place during a track or autocross session. I've got the PDX-5 in my car too (on the package tray behind the passenger seat), and even with industrial Velcro, I wasn't convinced it would stay in place when stressed. I have it mounted with screws and Velcro.

Smitty...the interior looks amazing! I remember talking to you about the Tillet's seat, but I ended up getting the Reverie XC.

My question is also about where to put the amp....because my amp right now is bolted down in the middle of the trunk - it's super secure, but it does take up space.
The Alpine amp that I have didn't fit behind the passenger seat....
