Alternative Ojai, not recommended for small childern or pregnant women

I see there are others like me that can't make May 12. I have a few other people interested in taking a full day excursion from La Canada through the desert to Ojai and back. See attached map, this ride is the real deal! Not for the faint of heart!! I'm willing to get my cooks up early and pack us a lunch (or can go biker bar route) to sit and eat at some beautiful Vista along the way. Then din din in Ojai or back a little. Any other sat or sun in May is fine. If it's Sat. there's a cars and coffee at the starting point, that's fun.

Please post or PM if interested

When I see things like this, it makes me think that I am reading something for Bill Gates the car enthusiast. No offense. I think it's pretty cool that you would make a bunch of people something to eat just to be nice.

laters,

BTW, I do not have any cooks. I don't even have a microwave, or a house. I do have driving shoes and a sweet car.

You guys should try Cerro Noroestra Rd which forks to the right at Lockwood Valley rd ( I believe it is called Cuddy Valley rd at the top) and goes across the top of the mountain to the 166, it is absolutely incredible!!! (as good as the 33)
When you get to the 166, you hang a left and go a few miles and pick up the 33 at the bottom

That's funny, I meant my restaurant cooks, and everyone can throw a couple bucks in if you like. I don't have any personal cooks. Even if I had that kind of money I would cook for myself, buy a Lambo, Atom...

The alternate road "optional Sunday extension" you are referring to takes you through "Pine Mountain Club"... no? Lots of bikes and exotics pass through. The village is nice and perched right across from the golf course, a good place to stetch the legs and grab a bite. Those back roads to Ojai and Santa Maria are sweet. I own a couple of houses in "PMC" and a few lots. A beautiful area being only about 1.5hrs from downtown L.A. A growing mtn. bike mecca as well. If they get the proposed resort town of "Tejon Ranch" top the grapevine and the city of "Centennial" passed that area is going to be a gold mine (IMO). I haven't had time to take the Lotus through that area to Ojai but I can't wait!! I also know of a another guy up there who has a "nightfall blue" elise. If anyone decides to head that way this summer... and I'm up there... I have a spare house (3bd-2ba) that a group could stay in... no charge. Just PM me!
Adios...

Actually, the road you have scheduled is Lockwood Valley road, which is not the one I am talking about

Lockwood Valley road is the "short cut"

Here is the road link

Optional: there is a motel at the base of the mountain at the Freeway: Best Rest Inn. If you reserve a room, we'll have a breakfast Sunday morning and we'll continue some of the best Lotus roads toward home: Lockwood Valley Road and HWY 33 to Ojai for late lunch!

Hey Josh, How about May 6th or the 20th? Both are Sundays.

That area could be in the 80's-90's in May...nice. Been up there several times, it's a knockout area.

Traffic is usually lighter in that area on Sundays, especially if we are rollin' early like 9-9:30.

We'd be glad to kick in some moola or we could stop on the way at a drive-thru.

Dibs on the back of the pack so we can see the rainbow effect of the cars in front!

I'm going to tentatively set this for May 20th. I'll re-edit my post.

Nice meeting you today. What a fantastic car! I'm really jealous.

May 13th would probably be the perfect day for a test run. My mom's not here and my restaurant will be dead.
