If your drive will look like that ^^^, you'll need a bungee cord for the steering wheel and a brick for the accelerator.

Cruise Control and an ObusForm gel seat cushion. A roll of duct tape makes a good cup holder. My longest drive so far....2,000 miles one way....Dave

I recommened going to Wal-Mart and getting one of the those small square pillows that you can tie to a bar stool. I drove from California to Texas (about 1000 miles) and and finally broke down halfway and got the pillow. It took several days for the bruises on my thighs to go away. Granted I'm 6'3" and about 220 pounds, so the seats are a little tighter on me than most owners here. The part where my backbone met the back of the chair also got kinda sore, but that was easy to deal with compared to the ass!

Other then that it was a blast. Driving long distances means you'll inevitably go through a bunch of small towns and this car will wow them like nothing else. Everytime I stopped at a gas station it was like the whole world just paused.

I find that the very small windows doesn't really let in that much sunlight, so I don't think sunscreen would be an issue (and I'm a person that burns easily). But I would recommend some good sunglasses as you know the visors in the car are rubbish.

My wife and I did 1200 miles each way to LOG 27. Took a day and a half each way with no problems. Earplugs might be a good idea. Wash the care each night to try to stay ahead of the bug build-up. One of the more interesting things you will need to cope with is people who have never seen a Lotus passing you just to take photos on their cell phones.

My tip would be to stay off Interstates if you can and try to find interesting roads. 3-days to do 1200 miles will give you a lot of free time at the beginning or end of the day.

Jerry

I just got back from a fall color drive to northern Michigan from the Detroit area. I tried having the radio on at first but the wind and engine/stage 2 were a bit much.......I wouldn't hear the radio for minutes at a time. Unless you want to blast the radio try driving in silence. It wouldn't be as bad/boring as you think. Two days will be plenty and you will have time for meals and stops.

3 days to cover 1100 miles? I did 1000 miles the day I picked up my Lotus. Left Vancouver around noon and was in my driveway by 11pm.

Earplugs help cut down the road/wind noise, don't forget the sunglasses.
