I'm selling it because I bought this car on a whim. I know some of you are going to hate me for this but I have a deposit at a dealer (6-8 month wait) and hope to order exactly what I want (with LSS). I test drove this extra car and had to have it. Right then, it was that good. I've never been an impulsive buyer (especially with something so expensive!) but I had to take it home. Heck, the next day I put my Audi TT up for sale on autotrader.com! After driving an LSS car and knowing I will track the car I keep, I decided to put this one up for sale. I broke it in carefully, washed it carefully, and really don't want to sell it, especially after seeing Mick's pics.

why not just get some wheels from Sector111 and some coilovers? You'll be way ahead of the game. Although frankly to consider the car as being "for sale" when the asking price is over 60 grand isn't really fair. That's like saying my kidney is for sale because if someone offered me $20 million for it i'd sell

hey, it was nice meeting some of the elise folks. randy drove until midnight central time to fayetteville, tn per his plan. i am betting he regretted the drive across the cherohala as it always seems an endless road, particularly at night. when we got off the interstate in monteagle tn that car drew a crowd- even at 11pm. people even commented on the lowly spyder next to it. so i guess the elise has the capacity to make the most mundane of cars look good

OffRoadr35, Actually, my kidney is for sale. I am asking a mere $700K. This way I can go buy an Enzo Ferrari. Please keep in mind that I did pay over msrp for this car so I'm not exactly being "unfair"...but then again...life isn't fair...

That's funny about Ponche!!! I knew Randy reminded me of someone I'd seen before!

i'm the last on the board that would call anything like that unfair. I'm all for free enterprise. I don't think you will be able to get it, but i'm all for anyone trying to make as much money as possible.

I just got off the phone with Randy!

Sounds like things are going well, he's about an hour outside of Austin right now. He goes in to the dealer tomorrow morning for his first oil change and ECU dump. The a/c is working intermittently, and he's tired from sitting for 14 hours at a time.

One bit of good news is that the center console seems to be much more solid than in the show cars. It doesn't budge at all when he shifts.

Someone loaned him a GPS, and it's been a life saver!

The radio is a bit of a challenge, and the car is twitchy enough that it's hard to multi-task. He's nearly gone off the road a couple of times when he's tried to do anything more than just drive.

He's getting alot of attention. Apparently he's ben the source of much entertainment and curiosity for the truck drivers and other CB folk along the route he's taking. One trucker talked to him at a gas station and tried to get the details on the car to share with the fascinated public.

I'll let Randy tell the rest, but I thought you'd all enjoy an update.

Robert,
Thanks for the update. Good to know he's safe and on schedule.

You might think that GPS is a lifesaver but little does Randy know that I'm charging him $150 per hour for using it!!! No really, I had this gut feeling that he might get more use out of it then I would! It has an option to calculate your trip using the least amount of highways. The perfect Elise companion! Glad to hear it's helping.
Dan

Anyone in Austin that can go visit Randy at the dealership while his car is being serviced?

Pix?

Take a pillow for Randy if you visit.

Life's perfectly fair, it's the people in it that aren't

But what it comes down to is; would you rather buy a "new" dealer demo car, or eo2b's "second hand" car ?

As someone who only has one kidney, believe me, you don't want to sell one. Life can become a hassle with less than full kidney function. And I didn't sell my other one, I actually payed to have it removed...

Yes, the server seems to be down completely now. It was very slow last time I got through (yesterday evening?). There weren't any updates from the trip, the last newsflash was from Saturday or Sunday.
