The Rossion Road Trip 2009
Approx 4000 miles.
May 27 WED, fly from San Diego to Miami. American Airlines San Diego to Miami. Leaves 6:20am. Arrives 3:30pm. Drive to Rossion. 36 miles. Rossion Automotive 920 SW 2nd Pl, Pompano Beach, FL - (866) 612-6625 Get car in late afternoon. 5:00pm? May 28 Thu Drive to LOG29 in Birmingham AL Night arrive in Birmingham. Wynfrey Hotel May 29 Fri 8:00am Talladega Scenic Drive and Tour? 12:00pm Vendor set up and displays? 6:00pm Reception May 30 Sat 8:00am Depart for Concours at Barber Motorsports 10:00am Barber Motorsports Museum Tour 12:15pm Lunch at Barber 2:00pm Cheala Hwy 25 Scenic Drive 5:00pm Vendor display 6:00pm cocktails! 6:#0pm Banquet May 31st Sun 7:00am Depart for autocross 8:30am Autocross until 2:00pm 1:00pm Scenic Little River Canyon Drive? 5:00pm Vendor displays 6:30pm Banquet 9:00pm Helmet inspect and driver's meeting Jun 1 Mon 6:45am Depart for Barber Motorsports 7:00am Breakfast at Barber Drive to Deals Gap 267miles 4 hours Stay at Accommodations at Fontana Village that night. Tail of the Dragon after LOG 29 June 1-2 <-- interested in joining us? Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap and Cherohala Skyway, Graham Co, NC Jun 2 Tue Drive Tail of the Dragon and surrounding area. Other groups coming in on June 4, only major group scheduled on June 3 is Suzuki owners club. Should be relatively uncrowded plus we will do other roads too. Leave in afternoon and drive to Louisville KY. 300 miles 5 hours. Arrive at 8:00pm Anyone want to meet in Louisville? Jun 3 Wed Leave Louisville and drive to Chicago 295 miles 4 hours, 40 min Arrive noon. Lunch in Chicago meet with Racy Tracy? ****ROUTE 66***** Leave Chicago at 2:00pm Bloomington - Springfield Drive to St Louis MO 295 miles 6 hours. Arrive 8:00 pm Jun 4 Thu St Louis to Rolla, Springfield, Joplin, Galena KS, Tulsa, Oklahoma City 500 miles 9 hours Jun 5 Fri Oklahoma City to Amarillo, Tucumcari, Santa Rosa, Albuquerque 550 miles 9 hours Jun 6 Sat Albuquerque to Gallup, Winslow, Flagstaff, Kingmen, Bullhead City (Stay at Laughlin?) 540 miles 9 hours Jun 7 Sun Bullhead City to Needles, Barstow, Santa Monica to San Diego 408 miles 8 hours

Hey Randy, it looks like I'll be right behind you. I'm still waiting for a call from Dean, but my plan is to fly into Miami on the red-eye Thursday night and drive without much sleep up to Log on Fri. I will be there through Monday's Barber day, but have to fly back on Tuesday. This is all contingent on getting my Rossion shipped from Birmingham to Boise.
BTW, my motor is with Chris and getting ready for install!!

Looks like an epic road trip for the true enthusiast. I may join you on the end of the trip if timing is right for picking up my elise. Either way, you need to take tons of pics and vid.

Cool! That would be awesome if you could. Yep, I will have video and cameras. I swore to myself to NOT BANZAI this trip. Enjoy the sites. Take many pics. Take video along the way.
One idea I am going to try, is to take video of the entire trip. That would be about 40 hours of video. Then create condensed videos using time compression of the trip. As in driving the entire Route 66 in 30 minutes.

Sounds like fun, though you always skirt too far north for me to see you as you pass through town. Amarillo's a nice town, though. And by nice town, I mean, nice town for Panhandle/West Texas. I love long road trips. Got another one myself coming up soon, a little Texas to South Dakota jaunt. Have fun with the Rossion!
