SF to LA to SF over Christmas - LotusTalk

I'm planning to drive down to LA for Christmas with my dogs. I'm going to leave the Lotus at home this time around. I'll be renting a car. If anybody needs a ride I'm leaving December 22 around 8 pm and will be returning December 26 by 9 pm. I figure I'm less likely to speed if I have somebody in the car to chat with.

42 years old
Height 5' 3"
Weight 390 lbs
Nearsighted. Wear glasses, contacts were too cumbersome.
Red Blotchy Skin
Allergic to Peanuts, and any sort of Potato Chip
Jewish
Married---with 2 kids.

Note: Haven't driven my Lotus much lately, as last time I did I received a $ 400 bill from my local Fire Department for a 30 minute "RESCUE and REMOVAL"---in order to help get me out of my Elise. (I was getting desperate as I was going on 20 continious hours being stuck in my car in my driveway--boy did that drive me nuts).

I can only drive to and from work after getting a DUI in August.

I hope you weren't wanting me to chip in on gas. I'll bring plenty of beer and a carton of cigarettes for the ride to make up for it.

I plan on making a short PCH drive from LA to wherever I can get in a day or so back to LA. Maybe I'll see you on the road, sadly I won't be in my Elise but in my dad's S2000.

Hey, this isn't a personal ad. I know you're all having fun with it. I thought I'd help someone out that has family or friends in LA that would like to see them for the holiday. I'm going down regardless. If there are any seriously interested people I'll gladly help you out. I don't care about your age, gender, or dimensions. Just be chill. Sorry no drinking and driving.

Trainwreck - I like your sig. I just saw the movie about Edith Piaf and how true you are. She was a trainwreck and quite the star.

Just a heads-up.
I don't know if you've done this drive right before or right after a holiday, but prepare for massive traffic. I drove one year the day before Thanksgiving and it took my NINE HOURS. I'm driving the other way on Christmas day hoping to miss it all.

I drove to LA before and after Halloween last year. I left around 10:30 pm and got in around 3 am. Was a traffic-free breeze. Driving back in the day usually does take more time. Most it's been for me is 6 hours. I'm thinking of leaving by noon on the 26th. Taking the 5 both ways. Thanks for the heads up. I will bring lots of tunes.

Hey AgentTripleX, I'm an old 56 year old F..t who has been around the block too many times and am WAY beyond issues (more like beyond the Twilight Zone) and was really leery and concerned about you offering to drive just anyone down to L.A.
