I love blending my passions together (driving my Lotus, Stargazing and teaching Astronomy). I hope you'll enjoy the star trip too!

I can post this and you can learn about your Universe too. Here's a pic of M-22 in the constellation of Sagittarius. It's a "WOW" object. one of our celestial "list" after dark. M-22 is a huge ball of a million suns, 15,000 Light Years from Earth (1 Light Year is 5.88 trillion miles away)!

Please join us in our Star Roadtrip on July 26th! --Hal

PLEASE JOIN US JULY 26th!

An image of the famous "RING NEBULA"!
This is a death of a typical sun.
The dead core (White Dwarf) is at the center.
Our star, the sun, will die too. Soon. Get ready.
Talk about Global Warming, that's nuthin' compared to star death!
Get yer kicks in yer Lotus before it's too late.

A for sure definite absolute very strong high probability maybe...my wife would enjoy the outing.

We'd likely drive home afterward. I'll check with the weefe and advise.

Updated on 6/13/08: Hal, my wife (Shirley) and I (Greg) plan to join in the fun. We plan to drive back home afterward. It is on my calendar!

Almost a MONTH AWAY to LAUNCH!!

Almost a MONTH AWAY to LAUNCH YOUR SPACESH.....er...LOTUS!

ARE YOU READY???

I just bought a NEW 5" Refractor telescope. I want to share the FIRST IMAGE in this 'scope. It's the first quarter moon. If your software allows, zoom in for the great detail. Or send me an E-mail and I'll send you the full resolution file. I'm THRILLED with it! Maybe you can use it as your screen saver?

Anyone else joining us on July 26th???

YOU'LL SEE THINGS THAT EVENING THAT MOST PEOPLE WILL NEVER SEE IN THEIR ENTIRE LIFETIME!!!!

I bring a small scope, whatever that will fit in the Elise's boot (which is pretty small). A friend of mine wilth his SUV meets us up there, with my big telescope and his telescope too. There are DOZENS of scopes set up at Mt Pinos, most of them are available for us to view through! Most amateur astronomers love to share their telescope views with us! Remember "AMATEUR" comes from the word "AMORE" (love of the sky).

Rosie and I are still planning on it, but will not be staying over that night. Now that the headlights are adjusted we can drive the Elise at night--awesome!

Reservations?

If you are staying the night (optional) for the FREE breakfast and Sunday morning roadtrip to Ojai for lunch, it's a good time to make your motel reservations, before it will be booked....

I did.

Here's more detail on the optional motel:

BEST REST INN, Lebec-Frazier
51541 North Peace Valley Road
661-248-2700
The rates are about $72/night
A superb place to rest the night from stargazing and be fresh for the next day!

This is going to be SPECTACULAR! Last weekend, I went to Mount Pinos with my Astronomy Class. Absolutely beautiful. Temperature at Midnight was 55F. The sky was blazing with our galaxy, the Milky Way.

I'm amazed that only 16 Lotus cars signed up.
I only offer this trip once a year. A rare Lotus trip to the stars.
Please don't miss this "stellar" event this year.
Please join us.

Just made my motel reservation. My son has been looking forward to this since last year. BTW, I have fresh batteries in my key fobs and will bring both of them this year along with my owners manual. I am fully prepared for the last war.http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/imag...ies/waving.gif
