Looks like the drive from TO to Frazier Park is gonna be freeway. If so, I'll meet the group in Frazier Park. No sense in me driving an hour in the wrong direction to meet ya in TO. Especially if I can take the 33 instead!

I see you noted in the list who is staying over. I also made a hotel reservation and if you need a head count, I most likely will have a passenger.

Thanks!

From Thousand Oaks, We'll take the 23 to Moorpark, to Grimes Canyon (TWISTIES!) to Fillmore. Then the 126 to the 5 freeway, arriving at Best Rest Inn (Flying "J") in Frazier Park at 4:02:32 PM.

One of the fun part is driving on the 5 freeway as a group, dominating all lanes with Lotus cars!
You can HEAR the SCREAMING from the unsuspected motorists surrounded by Elises/ Exiges! Older people yell in ANGRY TERROR. Teenagers holler at their top of their lungs. Babies SCREAM the LUNGS OUT, turning into seething blobs of plasma!

WHAT FUN!!

Depends:

1. 1.6 hours without traffic, most of the time
2. Rarely, 3 hours with bumper to bumper traffic
3. If there is a fire, it takes a WEEK to get there!!
4. Asteroid strike? Maybe a decade.
5. Hemhorroids strike? Check with your doctor. Bring a pillow.
6. Screenactor writer's strike? Hell, I can't even finish this senten......

On that note, there should be a better way of scheduling these things - like an Evite or lotuscar.ning. I *may* be able to make this, but just found out about it today & made plans for that day 2 weeks ago.

Just a thought.

I hope to make the next one if we can't shift plans for this one.

I just made a reservation at the INN
I will be meeting you at LOTUS of THOUSAND OAKS at 2:30 PM.
Kelly will come along and she is very fascinated by the stars.

What do we need to bring?
Warm clothes! Blanket? a Telescope? ( I don't have any binoculars) My GF has a telescope - but it's never been used - sad, I know.

Yes, bring warm jackets. The night temps could drop to 40F, even the summer at 9000 ft altitude!
Binoculars, if you have 'em.
A FLASHLIGHT!!! (I have the red filters for you)
Picnic Supplies, small cooler, a themo with warm drinks (Coffee, Hot Choclate)
Small, foldable chairs that will fit in the Lotus.
Camera
Sunblock, sunglasses, drinking water
Extra KEYS and EXTRA BATTERIES for the key fob!
Hat or cap.
Toilet Paper!
Spirit of Adventure!

1 WEEK TO GO!!!

Its not too late to join us! Let me know if you're going to!

Seriously?
Easy. Camping chairs fit, any store like Target, Costco etc.

I'm serious about extra keys/batteries. We'll be in the middle of nowhere, without cellphone reception. If you lose your key fob, it would take EONS for a flatbed tow truck to get to Mt Pinos! Be safe, don't be sorry.

Paranoia creeps......
3 DAYS and we'll be UNDER THE MILKY WAY!!!

Get ready!

Last Minute Preparations!

I'd like to know what people are staying the night for the trip Sunday morning, planning the lunch (restaurant) in Ojai. Please let me know. LET ME KNOW!!

We might encounter thunderstorms this weekend, to ehance the excitement. Besides the lightning and thunder and rain, it could hamper our stargazing. Also, we'll check the roads (especially Lockwood Valley Road and hwy 33) before we leave Sunday morning!

Here's the list of stuff to bring, sorry to be repetitous:
Yes, bring warm jackets. The night temps could drop to 40F, even the summer at 9000 ft altitude!
Binoculars, if you have 'em.
A FLASHLIGHT!!! (I have the red filters for you)
Picnic Supplies, small cooler, a themo with warm drinks (Coffee, Hot Choclate)
Small, foldable chairs that will fit in the Lotus.
Camera
Sunblock, sunglasses, drinking water
Extra KEYS and EXTRA BATTERIES for the key fob!
Hat or cap.
Toilet Paper!
Spirit of Adventure!

2 DAYS TO GO!!!
Its not too late to join us! Let me know if you're going to!

SEE YOU SATURDAY AT 2 PM at Thousand Oaks Lotus Dealership.
WE'LL LEAVE AT 2:30 PM SHARP!!!!!
(or we'll see you at the second stop, FLYING J at FRAZIER PARK at 4 PM!)
