TX to PA - help plan the route..

All:

For anyone who didn't see, http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35052

Scoobyguru and I will be bring the car back to PA beginning the morning of April 27th. The plan will be to arrive home the evening of Sunday the 29th. While we aren't committing loads of time to this adventure, we would like to take an excursion now an again, just to keep things interesting.

Google Maps takes us from Houston to Slidell, then up to Birmingham, Knoxville, Roanoke, then Hagerstown.

Once we get up to the Knoxville vacinity, we'll definitely make it a point to do the Tail of the Dragon, then once in Roanoke, some of the Blue Ridge Pkwy.

Please feel free to fill in some of the gaps with your suggestions. It's going to be a tight schedule, but it would be great to meet some of you along the way if possible!

Looking forward to your suggestions,

- Allen.

It's a good thing you'll be able to get rid of all those stickers in the windshield once you get back to PA !!!

Robert:

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into "crudson's" site.

John:

Unlike Detroit, we do have an annual vehicle inspection, but that sticker is less than half the size of ones currently on the car. They like everything big in Texas, including their windscreen stickers, I guess.

Keep it coming!

Allen,
Need to keep in mind that you wont be making good time on the Blue Ridge. It's a tremendous / must do road, for sure. But being extremely twisty, you don't get many miles in a day. Several years ago, we made a trip from Delaware to Atlanta via the Blue Ridge. It was a two-day run, with more than one day being just the BR. I'd do it again for sure, if I were not in a hurry to get somewhere.
The downside is that the Nat'l Park rangers really do use radar heavily, and write hefty tickets. So, use your radar detector wisely -- and NEVER cross the yellow line.
Have fun, Jim
