Ventura/LA: MONTHLY DRIVE!

We had fun last weekend, great roads, super cars and wonderful people! LET'S DO IT AGAIN!
We'll do a drive, possiblity of a place to go, an event or just a drive to nowhere.

We found a place to start: SilverStar Lotus in Thousand Oaks. Around the corner is the "Corner Bakery" that has GREAT breakfasts! We'll use the 'facilities" and take off!

I'm planning a great drive, aiming for Monday February 18th (President's Day Holiday). It's in the works.

We need your interest on that one. James, Ara, Jack & Rosie, Kerri, Del & Christine, John, Zaven, Dan, Patrick, Ryan, Jamey, Steve....anyone who was there or those who were not.

Are you "IN"?

That should be good for us! I got the impression Silver Star was a bit surprised to see us lined up in their lot, should we clear it with them and maybe they would be willing to open up the lobby and let us use their bathroom? I had to run up to the gas station to find a bathroom ! Also any chance of ending for lunch at Terris cafe where we had those great breakfasts? We want to try out their lunches and we are kind of wary of Applebees, we got really sick eating there once..... Or we could go out to a destination in Ventura - then lunch - and back ? Only issue would be parking

I arranged the use of the Dealer's lot, facilities etc. weeks ago. Hmmm...
A few did use the facilities Sunday (most the ladies), the showroom was open for restrooms (not the service lobby) and a salesman said they made coffee for us too.

We love Terri's, but the parking lot is not Lotus friendly (bad people with cellphones in their ears and they hate cars). Applebees is OFF my list too. We'll find a good restaurant with Lotus parking.

There are some cool places in ventura , will investigate, also there is that place at the All British Car show? The lot was great for Lotus and they had outdoor picnic tables, only issue is not very fun getting there.... maybe someplace on PCH up north a ways?

Ever eat @ "Meridians"???

N. 101
Exit Seaward
Left at the light
Drive across the overpass
Turn left behind the Cheveron
You'll be heading into the Ralphs shopping center
Meridians is a few storefronts down from the laundry mat and behind Carrows...

The food is great... they serve pizza, pastas and salads... (not traditional... a Mediterranean flair) yummy...

Plenty of parking for large groups... I take my Elise there about once a week... You can also leave the cars there and walk a couple of blocks to the beach...

-Erik Ericson's is also cool and on the pier @ the California St. exit... they validate parking as well...

-Tony's Pizza is "a classic" but the parking is rough... a must if your not in the Lotus... Pizza served in a brown paper sack... You might even see Tony..

-El Torito is also off of the Seaward exit on the right... lots of parking as well...

Have fun...

The above restaurants are "average" priced...

Before going to Meridians it may be a good idea to call ahead depending on the size of your group... (805) 676-1756 or www.meridianscafe.com

Thanks! We'll keep these in mind in Ventura.

Even without the Lotus. Terry's son lives in Ventura

No problem... Ventura is cool, been looking at a loft there... but not sure it would be the smartest move considering the market... but it is by the beach...hmmmmmm so who knows...

I'll follow the thread and may be able to make it... just to early to commit...

If anyone is leaving from the Westminster area, let me know. I'm new to the area and don't know my way around yet.

I'm in Long Beach, if you want to meet up there as it's on your way to Thousand Oaks. Maybe "good2go" could convoy with us, as he's also in LB. For you, just take Westminster Blvd west which turns into 2nd St. then Ocean in Long Beach. Both "good2go" and I are right off Ocean Blvd. It's an easy hop on the freeway from there.

I'll give a tentative yes, though not sure if I'll have other vacation plans.

Can we set up an evite or some other reminder service other than checking the forum? These threads get so long it's hard to get any useful info out of them... and I usually forget they exist.
