Why We Live In CA

The better half, emommy, "suggested" we go to the outlet mall today, a 40 min freeway drive. The weather's pretty nice so top-off in the Elise. Half way there we see a serious accident closed the freeway in the return direction. No problem. A great opportunity for a drive through the hills - from lake Berryessa to Napa. A few pictures are posted here. We're spoiled here in northern California or what

Don't come, it's really terrible here!

No, it's really terrible here and in the Pacific Northwest. Please don't come, especially if you're concerned about us ruining your state with our liberal ideas. Our real estate prices are high because of the demand from immigrants, especially the rabble from Minnesota and Wisconson. Snow mobiling is really limited here, and its not the same exercise to walk out and pickup your morning newspaper rather than shoveling your front walk. Florida and Arizona are much cheaper, with plenty of room left for housing developments and shopping malls.

LOL! That's what the Oregonians say to the Californians: "Don't come here!".

Not trying to start a flame war.
I lived in the Peoples Republic for three years never again. There are some
very good things about california and I do like to visit.
I still have friends out there just don't want to live there. The up-side isn't
worth the down side.

Agreed! to each his own, however...

I meet alot of Texans who come here to play golf and party and invariably they tell me how lucky I am to live here. I have to also say that Austin is a beacon of cultural maturity compared to the rest of the "the lone-star state". One of the best things about this country is its beauty and our ability to live wherever we please. Further agree that a Sonoma costal drive and heading inland hugging the Russian River through a series of redwood stands and the westside road into Healdsburg is almost spiritual!

Yes your right austin is great. I lived in LA for one year and San Diego for
2.5 years I liked S.D. the best, but I've lived in austin for 18 years so it
works for me, like I said every place has its good points and its bad points.
California's taxes and cost of living are insane. Although it keeps getting
worse here. Traffic"s gotten alot worse since I moved here. Your housing market is crazy.

If the fires, floods, and occassional civil unrest don't drive you away, consider this. California requires you to put a front plate on your Elise/Exige. That's just criminal.
So, don't come here. It's crowded enough.
