I guess I'm the only one that thinks the Camaro comments are ignorant. The Corvette came before the Camaro. The Camaro tail lights were influenced by the Corvette. The Corvette has hard edge lines now and no way could pull off round lights. For a car that beats everything on the track, you guys sure know how to nit pick. The Camaro also shares a motor OH NO!!!

I'm not a Corvette guy either and I like it! Ok the rear is a little busy, and red looks way better than silver, but overall not bad!

What I don't like are the leaf springs...

I think it needs some cleaning up. Hopefully the aftermarket can take care of that. A white one with a black interior will look pretty good. I would want to get rid of the winglets and the chrome in the front.

Why? you know they are composite, transverse springs right? They share nothing in common with truck leaf springs and have alot of advantages over steel wound springs: lower cg, lower overall weight, easy ride height adjustment, integral antiroll charachtaristics

I think GM has done something very "un-GM like". They took the styling in a very new direction rather than stay completely safe, which in my mind is a very good thing. Although people will rail against Chris Bangle's flame surfacing look, everyone one has copied it since.

I never was a big fan of the vette, however my wife has really opened my eyes to the value proposition. It is the best all-around sportscar for the money. Comfortable, good mileage, lots of storage space, oh and it is totally competent on the track etc.

I think the best hope here is that typically they style everything at the beginning and take the plainest version for the base model. This is a very sharp base model IMHO.

The latest ZR-1 with the new tire package is pretty much as fast as any other passenger car around a track. The data on these things is never 100% conclusive, but it suports these claims. Kit cars and race cars cant be counted in good conscience.

Motor trend hustled even the lowly z06/z07 around laguna sec faster than the mclaren and aventador. It will be exciting to see what the top c7s will do in the next few years.

News Flash:

J.C.Whitney will be offering the Corvette conversion round tail light kit in about 90 days.

From the photos, the interior looks like the same plastic treatment of a GM car. No improvement here from an ID perspective. But is it really any worse than the Evora?

For what it is, under $80K you have quite a machine. An open top model might be a real stunner.

But yah, that busy rear end.........

I completely agree. IMO, GM went a little crazy on this one but I'm happy that they didn't stay their usual course. At this point based on pictures, I dislike the new corvette more than I like it. But like someone else said, I hope it looks better in person.
