I have an 02 that I love. I have heard that the DSG allows for better mileage however, here is a bit of info on it.

DSG and twin-clutch transmissions - What the DSG / twin clutch transmission is - how the DSG /twin clutch transmission works

thanks for the link.. I am familar with the dsg gearbox, which is why it's the option I want.. I'm more curious on the small quirks only owners would know, so far I've read the car doesn't really park it moves a few feet up before parking..

I dont have a 09 Tdi with DSG but i do own a volkswagen and have done plenty of research on them. the same transmissions goes into the mk5 R32 and i have had two friends with mk5 R32s that have had thier DSG trans go bad on them. and suposably you have to by a new one rather then fix it when they go out. im not 100% sure of that but thats deffanetly what i have heard.

Yes I have the 09 TDI Jetta Sportwagon DSG and it is fantastic. Up and down shifts are outstanding and it even seems to "compression brake" approaching a stop, which I though Diesels could not to. Average mpg is about 40 and I have seen nearly 50 on the trip from MSR to my house. And right now diesel prices make me look like a genius. Who needs a Hybrid!
