Awesome Used Car Lot!

I'm guessing its not a "Buy Here Pay Here" establishment.

Know the place well

My son and I stopped in there on our trip to Japan this past April.

Great showroom, amazing cars and really nice people. They let us look at everything, took a few pictures of us by the cars, talked prices, car histories, etc.

Funniest thing was when one of the owners asked me where I was from. I say "Ohio". He says "Do you know Stoddard Auto?" I answer "Sure, they're 10 minutes from my house!" He and I are dumbfounded. Turns out he buys his Porsche parts from them. He even ran to get his parts invoice from Stoddard. Small world...

Regards,
Wayne

Does that used lot have a Mclaren F1 in it? No? Well MY showroom does - it's just 400 yards from my house - I pop in about once a month to uncontrolably drool...
Cars International Kensington - Race Cars Stock List

the pick of the bunch is the working V12 F93a Ferrari which runs! and is eligible for the F1 demo in Monaco on race weekend - who wouldn't want to drive at full whack around Monaco in a Formula 1 car?
WANTWANTWANT!

Sorry just noticed - it does have a Mclaren F1.... EPIC FAIL!

This is the car that I'd want: Cars International Kensington - 1964 Shelby 289 Cobra I don't want one of the over-grown 427s, one of the original 289s will do me just fine.

On another note, its so hard to imagine exactly how big those cars are in person. I need to bring my lotus over there and park next to each one for comparison.

And to think they named rubber Jack pads after famous AC Cobras - (was your link to the tool store intentional)?

Doh!

No, I had that in my cut and paste buffer by mistake. When I notice my "senior moment" I had hoped to change it before anyone noticed, but obviously I didn't.

I fixed my original post...

Agreed - the 427 looks too 'hungry' and who can tell the originals from the 1000s of copies? The 289 looks subtle, understated and very classy - there is a showroom right beside the one i linked to which has the precursor to the 289 - the AC Ace bristol which is even nicer/classier again - Peter Bradfield Ltd

The dealer I bought my Elise from had one of those not so long ago.

Of course, when I was a student at Imperial, they were still driving around on the roads in that area, not posing in showrooms! I lived in Princes Gardens and Cranley Gardens during that time, which are roughly the same distance either side of Reece Mews.

Well hello ex neighbor (and Imperial allumnus)! I live in Little Boltons along Old Brompton, (but planning to move to Portland next year)!
I think the AC ace Bristol is one of the prettiest cars imaginable - and a bit of a bargain - they're usually about 」50k? HR Owen the Ferrari dealers a little bit further down the road from here, have a similar looking 250 gt california in white for a reported 」6m!
Put the two side by side and I'd honestly choose the Ace over the 250.
I think it's classier and better looking.
There's still lots of fancy machinery tootling around here but unless it's something really special people dont care or look - Lambo's don't even draw a glance from the locals anymore. Purple Koennigsegg being an exception!

Sorry for the thread hijack, but both my brother Wally77 (Black Elise) and myself (NightFall Blue Elise) live in the Marietta/Smyrna area as well. There are a bunch of us up on this side of town. I know tmr quite well, but I have not met many of the other "West Side" Atlanta guys........usually my brother and I have to travel all the way over to Alpharetta to meet up with the other guys (i.e. Mick) for mountain runs, etc. It would be good to get to know the West Side folks!

On topic..........the Mclaren
