Boxster Spyder - Looks promising

This is hot. Called my dealer and got on the list this morning. I'm thinking the traditional red over Silver should be stunning, not that the white is bad either.

Kinda looks like the soft top of the earlier S1 Elise.

a stripped down Porsche, a nice make up gift for the release of the Panamera
now, drop the gt3 motor in this and they would really have a winner

I woud be getting one if thing$ were better..
I would have a hard time deciding on PDK versus 6spd. Probably go with the 6spd though. 320 hp CaymanS N/A 3.4L! Just drop in a Farnbacher Loles GT3 motor and
Base price $61,200(I think it's a killer value!)Just add ceramics and rock and roll!

I've been saying the same thing for many years to my customers that would ask me why I drove a Lotus but sell Porsche. I would say that they don't really build their cars like they used to, little lightweight basic fun cars. Well now they do. I wonder if Ferdinand Peich had something to do with this? I'll bet he did.. I love you man!
Now all I need is the $$ to get back in the game. Probably will have to wait a few years and get one used or look for a trade in.
Don't get me wrong though all of the P-Car models are great cars but just not exactly what I was specifically looking for. This car is ME!

"only" 2,800 pounds ... tee-hee

It's nice and I hope they build it, but I really wish they'd stayed truer to the original concept of the Boxster, way back when.

Hmm. And I thought the Elise was spartan but at least it had real door handles and a decent targa room.

They do?!?! The Boxster Spyder is neither little nor lightweight. I suppose it is lightweight for a Porsche, but not for traditional sports cars.

I like it, but the lack of a real top means they will leave me behind in the cranky northeast.

2nd.

I sold my box to get an elise. And I had a transplanted 3.4l from a 996 in mine as well. It was faster, but can't even compair to the lotus.

It had great steering feel, but the lotus is better.
It had great acceleration, but the lotus feels faster.
It looked great, but the elise looks better.
Aftermarket stuff cost an arm and leg. Same with the elise. hehe.

Once you elise, you can never go back.
