Mopho,

You started the GT-R discussion not me, and yes this was about Cobalt SS, but since when has any thread in LotusTalk stuck to the original topic? Or for that matter just about any forum's web site.

So what lap times did you post in the GT-R?

Attack? What attack? I went from disagree and debate to attack? How? Anyway, sorry you feel attacked, not my intent at all and I appologize.

Umm no. Someone else brought up the GT-R and I just said in passing that I don't want one. You decided out of the whole discussion to pull that little comment out ( a week after the discussion ended no less) and argue with me about it.

And yes, you are attacking me, you accused me of having an agenda, you have been arguing with me trying to tell me that MY reasons for not wanting one are wrong when you have not even driven the car. There was nothing to argue about, I told you why I don't want one, that should have been the end of it!!! WTF?!

Never said your opinion was wrong, I said it was unique.

I don't consider "suggesting someone has an agenda" as an attack, but you do so it doesn't really matter what I think.

But again, I apologize.

They're all three marginally uncomfortable, with marginal HVAC. They all are a blast to drive and are closer to oversized go-karts rather than refined DDs. They're all 3 leaps and bounds more fun and more of an experience to drive than "GT" car regardless of the horsepwer the GT car has... why? Because it's a GT car

You get what you pay for with the three of them (GT, Noble, Lotus). In that field the Lotus is 3rd on my list of wants, Noble is second, and GT is first. I purchased the Lotus because it's cheap and if I shunt it to the ditch, I won't lose sleep about it. A *somewhat* painless check will put a Lotus back on the road (donor cars are all over ebay)... Not so with the GT or Noble.... That's why I compare them. They're a lot more similar than the GT-R or that silly Cobalt.

Make sense?

Best,

Phil
from that angle i would agree.
the FGT is also my fav car.....hopefully my next car will be a superformance gt40.

From reading this thread versus the SKY one that I belong to, I am starting to see a trend where some of the folks on this site don't feel like they need to or should give any other car credit. I may like my SKY but I like other cars even ones with less HP or maybe not as cool looking.

I don't get it, I would hate to think that a Lotus will turn me into a cult member.
there are plenty of nicer cars ( in many ways) than a Lotus, Porsche, ETC...

WTF?

#1 About the Cobalt SS, WTF, it's finally a Cimmarron with balls! (Sorry fanbois, but the Cobalt is just a new Crapalier. No rear-diff, no care. Period.

#2 How the hell did we get onto the topic of the GT-R "speed appliance"/fat ugly pig? Who cares? And robains, if you don't end up buying one after your outpouring of unadulterated GT-R fellatio, you're going to look like quite the fanboi. :P

You really think this is just a Lotus Talk issue? This happens on all boards, and I guarantee it even happens on your SKY board. I've been a member of quite a few car discussion boards in my day. This is pretty typical of all of them.

That doesn't excuse it, but I just find it funny when people come here and say stuff like this like Lotus Talk is the only board that has this kind of stuff.

haha, its not just their car many lotus owners are snobbish abt...its everything.
true, u see it on every car board.....viper owners appreciate other cars...many viper owners have several cars. true car guys usually like a variety of cars. its the guys that have 1 car and thats all they drive. that viper guy will appreciate another car until you say it does something better than his viper. especially if you say "its faster." then they become rabid..
the zo6 owners arent as bad. many zo6 owners also have other sportscars are often "car guys." they like modding their car and are happy their car has great performance at half the cost of the car your comparing it to. when faced with a better car, they will tell you "well, hell...that ferrari costs more than double the price, of course its better at...."
noble owners are generally good car guys....many of them have big bucks so they have experienced many diff cars and seem to appreciate diff cars...
but to noble owners, there is no better car on the planet.
my experience is that this board seems to be VERY judgemental....
its just the culture here.

I bet your 100% right, i have not traveled the forums. I was not implying its only Lotus, just the strongest and first I have seen. It was my personal experience and opinion. I have plenty of ' Lotus buddies" that give credit where credit is due.

Again evo, just like in the other thread, since you seem to think so "highly" of us, why do you hang around?
Seems you are the one being judgmental

In my experience Corvette (and Porsche) fans are the worst, especially when it comes to the GT-R. I suggest you check out 6speedonline.com The GT-R threads are rabid with Corvette folks

People here tend to have a certain philosophy about cars, they have seen the "light" and prefer their cars as such, so what?
I have driven many cars including exotics and not much is as fun to drive as a light car, speed is not everything.

Are you going to keep dodging the question? I mean, since we're all such judgmental snobs, and other car owners are so much better, why do you keep coming here? Do you get some sort of perverted pleasure in telling us how much we suck?

someone comes here and comments on how certain folks react to other cars...i comment on his comment, but you take up the issue with me.
then you get into a debate with someone else and then you again take up issue with me.
i encourage you to go back and read POST#74 from this thread. what the heck are you griping abt???
lets see, you make an observation abt anything and its your opinion, your entitlement, your experience, and everyone elses gospel.
i make an observation and you want to lynch me....i didnt direct anything at you personally so step the f back...
and who the f do you think you are to ask ANYONE why they are here???

Once again, instead of answering the question you spin it to be about me

Sorry chief, but I shared my opinion of cars, you on the other hand are insulting people, by your own posts you don't seem to think very highly of us, you are being rude and rather two faced and I am just calling you out on it

I am just trying to understand why you would continue to come to a forum where you do not seem to like the people on, that is all

why is it that you seem to single me out? other people mention that this board is judgemental, why dont you go ask them why theyre here? seems you have put yourself in charge of that. you have some work to do.

obviously you do not like me on a personal level....mission accomplished as far as im concerned.
my question to you is why do u give a crap what i post anyway??
