Cokey's Neon (Sasha)..... (many pics)

well, i know most of you on here hate the neon -shrugs- but here's a little story of a my and what's it become..

living in brooklyn, NY for that matter, it's hard to keep a car good looking with out a garage.. i haven't brought my house yet, so my car has been parked on the street for 4 years now.. With most of the time driving to my old jobs location at the end of the FDR, which you guys from NY know how horrid it use to be and still is in some spots, sasha has taken a lot of abuse.. i didn't buy the car to be just a daily driver so i beat it pretty damn good.. it's not meant for comfort at all, with all the solid motor and tranny mounts, removing balance chain assembly, the damn thing vibrates like hell.. it's not quiet at all but i love the damn thing as many of you your cars.. i've seen an orange one on the FDR only once.. i know some people say any lotus isn't comfortable either but i still will get one and drive the hell out of it.. comfort is not my fortie..

well on to some pics and such.. my car was hit twice while parked. one of those times bending my drive rear strut.. was side swipped on the FDR by a young driver one also which is the reason for me repainting it.. body work and painting were done mostly by my cousin, who is in a wheel chair, and one of his workers and me..

well we all know what they look like

here's some of the damage.. some occured in an acident, pass side the rest while parked door and rear 1/4

well there ya go.. but as usual, nothing around here stays new.. back bumper needs repainting due to people not knowing how to park.. back in early spring late winter, handa CRV stopped short in front of me.. didn't slow down fast enough and hit the metal cover of his spare tire on the back.. not hard but enough to mess up the hood and some of the from bumper.. now i have a red hood off my cars srt that he sold..

...i like the new color and more subtle spoiler, both - refined choices...now that you have the autobot badge, it needs a proper name, doesn't it?..

thanks.. the stock spoiler attracts a lot of attention most times both good and bad.. cops stay away. the exh note is actually lower then stock form.. stock this car comes with no mufflers just a lot of bends and resonaters..

yea that name is from a dog we had for many years.. lol saw it fit.. names not really in stone of course.. since it needs more paint, now i'm thinking of a slight 2tone with this color and flat black.. prob wont do it but it's in the back of my head..

Peewee does some nice work, buy the poor guy a welding mask and some gloves! I have a scar from some slag on my leg from welding, it's hot stuff.

That lip spoiler is awesome! Makes the car look totally different (and in a good way).

As stated earlier... you should help your cousin out and invest in some safety equipment for him Welding mask and respirator should be top on the list... with gloves and proper clothing (leathers) a close second.

That is really nice work! Love the rear deck lid treatment-very clean. And great color choice, too.

I, too, second the motion for a niosh respirator, welding safety equipment and just general eye protection. Your cousin has skills-he needs both eyes and all ten fingers to do work that nice!

How are those Brian Crower cams working out for you?

The DSM crew finds them unreliable.

Also, what about your fuel mods / tuning device? I am guessing since you are running a 60-1, you have some fairly ambitious plans : )

I love that little spoiler lip you have there. So much better than the toy car handle it came with.

Nice work.
For all the time (if it were spent on a side job) and money spent - you probably have exceeded used Lotus territory. lol.
