...fisker receives $528M federal loan...
...now that's a worthy recipient - it specifically finances the development of lower-cost models...

I thought so as well! Project NINA is going to, at the very least, be interesting to look at!

totaly agree - i am not very pro tesla because EV's have limited viability in the US market.
great news imo - other than the continued printing of cash thing! but i am very pro fisker, real deal. They do have a new car coming - i sopke with a fisker designer and voiced a few of my concerns (back seats don't flip down to put my bike in it, rwd means re-generative braking is limited) he said the next vehical addresses all of that and would be about 1/2 the price point of the karma. the karma is really nice in person by the way! i would totaly drive one!

What do you guys think of their stock? Their parent company that made their drive is Quantum fuel systems, QTWW . They seem low and on their way up!

I think that anyone that has the balls to make a go at the not so big 3 to create something imaginative deserves a shot. Innovative design is a rarity in today's automotive world.
I'm really interested in seeing what Project Nina looks like when unveiled. In all sincerity, I think our next car will be either a TDI Golf or the new Honda CR-Z, depending if they style it nicely or not. If it looks remotely like the Insight or the new Crosstour, I will not look back on my way to the VW dealer.

I'm glad to see it. I would rather have the government stroke a check for something more innovative like this that reduces relying on oil and promotes alternatives to the gas engine versus continuing to throw money at a big black hole (the big 3, or not so big 3 now).
At least any worthwhile technology and developments would probably find there way into other automobiles and manufacturers. Maybe this money will be enough to create a really good lightweight battery! An even better use for this money might be to use it to eliminate unions .Andy |
