Interesting Info about Fiats

I received an email from the Mercedes list I subscribe to concerning Fiat and their wiring process, kind of interesting:

"For wiring, I know of little that's as weird as FIAT. One day I was talking to the regional rep at the local dealer. He told me that the nice color-coded wiring diagram I had was only a guide. While wiring the car, the person probably started off with the right color, but if the piece grabbed wasn't long enough another handy piece would be spliced in (regardless of color) and this could happen a couple of times on a long run. Troubleshooting could be interesting..."

YMMV
