Just got a 2010 Taurus SHO

Well, finally after a long wait, my 2010 SHO arrived this week. I ordered the car sight unseen, just like I did the Lotus actually. When I read 365hp, AWD, and 25mpg I knew I wanted one. I ordered it back in May, so it has been a long wait. I love the car, it has tons of cool features like adaptive cruise control, a 10gb hard drive for my music, seat massagers, nav.. the works. As of last Wedneaday I had the first registered SHO in CT. I don't know if that is the case now or not. Anyway... here are some photos. If anyone has any questions feel free to throw them out!!

Well for starters, the car is heavy. VERY heavy. 4360lbs to be exact. Although it feels heavy, there is no shortage of power. The car I replaced with this was my 2007 Acura TL Type S. There is no comparison between the two really. This feels much more refined, more grown up if you will. It is VERY quiet. Almost too quiet. Even under full throttle, there is very little sound. A good exhaust system muight give it some needed personality. The TL suspension was stiffer, and felt more light a sports sedan than the Taurus. Although in a drag race, the 4360lb Taurus would tear the TL to shreds. Car & Driver, Motor Trend and Ford state 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. I've never had such a heavy car be that quick, so the feeling is different than anything I've known.

I was browsing the SHOForum the other day. There is a guy already over 400hp with one by changing only the timing. No added boost. It will be interesting to see what the aftermarket will have for this car. hopefully a good cat back exhaust will come soon, cause I will be getting one!

I am too lazy to go look in my latest MT.... is the engine turbo or S/C. I bet if it is turbo then a lot more power may be left on the table. Good to see Ford going in this direction, they may be learning something from the Germans!

Do they come with a manual trans option. I had one of the first SHO's with a 6speed. I really like the car until a painter oversprayed it with oil based primer(i sold it as soon as it was "cleaned up")

I've been looking at getting one of these, and if people are over 400hp with just timing changes... I can only imagine it would be easy to get more out...

Boost controller, full exhaust... etc

Jallingt, it's twinturbo'd

That is very nice. It's great to see Ford continuing to come out with great products. This will inevitably open a new world for SHO modifications. You will easier see these cars modified to over 500hp. With all wheel drive and four doors, that can be fun for the whole family.

Ha that video is funny. I had a 1995 SHO with a 5sp. This one is auto, the only way you can get it.

Can't believe I'll say this about a Ford but you have a cool car. Congrats.

I think Ford did a good job with this car. I read some articles on it recently.

Wow. You don't get a sense of scale on that car until you scale it from the license plate. that car is HYUUOOOOOGE! How much bigger is it than an old school first-gen SHO?

Looks awesome though, i've had a thing for them for a while. Looks like a great 'family car', and a really entertaining way to deal with a boring commute.

Holy crud! What is the reasoning behind making the car so much bigger than before? Comfort?
