That car has to be my #1 dream car of all time.

I think Randy likes in too.

I was fortunate enough to spend 45 minutes in the left passenger's seat area (there wasn't an actual seat there at the time) of one of the Gulf F1 GTR's in full LeMans trim at Road America once. It was simply amazing.

+1 I was in the McLaren London showroom once, and Nigel Mansell was looking it over.

I saw this Gulf F1 GTR in Japan this spring.

It's in the Tokyo showroom of Bingo Sports. Just one of many gorgeous cars on display.

But the F1 is the one I wanted the most!!

Wayne

The F1 is still my favorite and it turns out it would have been a great investment if you had the money when they were new. The last I read they are trading in the $4 million range right now.

I also read about one that caught on fire and burned to the ground. The insurance company determined that due to the present value, the car was worth rebuilding rather than paying out cash on the claim so the burned up remains were shipped back to England to the factory for a complete new tub and rebuild.

You folks are lucky. I've only seen a single Mclaren F1 road car, pulling into Buckingham Palace a number of years ago. It had a deep red coat and was absolutely enchanting to witness everything that the MF1 is.

Well, you see, this is the slow car. Remember that the street car is geared to go 240 while this thing is gear limited to only 180. Which makes it more fun...

So in order to not disappoint:

It's much more fun to drive a slow car fast than it is to drive a fast car slow!

This is my ULTIMATE dream car. The weight of a Lotus Exige with a V-12 engine...

No, but I'm sure it has more interior and storage space than almost any other supercar ever made.

A little off topic, but does anyone know now that McLaren has decided to go back to making a street car what powerplant will be in it?

According to 'auto motor und sport' it will be the well-known 6.3 liter, 8 cylinder, 550 hp engine (which, as I see it, will be from Mercedes).
