Mustang road trip

I just got back from a two week road trip to LA with the Mustang. Most everything is new. Clutch and transmission rebuilt, new brakes, new tires, all fluids, alignment and corner balance. Harnesses are on order. I took it on a romp in the hills near Encino last weekend and straight up had the most fun I've ever had driving a car on the street. Demolished a 911 and a very well driven S2000. And the RACKET it made in the canyons!

It sucked in LA traffic. The clutch punished me in heavy traffic - there is a reason why I went to an automatic for my daily driver. When traffic was moving, I thoroughly enjoyed every opportunity to drop it into fourth or third to pass. Hey, the A/C blows really cold and the cupholders are great!

18-22mpg on the 5, 10mpg for the one tank I had that was pure LA commute, Encino to Santa Monica. That tank did include the 22 miles of twisties from my drive in the hills.

Got pulled over once, on Wilshire in Santa Monica. The *one* time I had a little open road on Wilshire and I goosed it. Didn't see the cop. He let me off though.

A friend is driving it at Infineon on July 4th and 5th. He's going to have fun.
