I wonder if that's a leftover from it being a RHD first. That would make sense to me, Just like how the Elise/Exige still has the gas cap on the passenger side on LHD models.

A lot of cars do that, particularly German cars. BMWs, Volkswagens/Audis, Porsches, Mercedes... and it seems most econo-cars have it on the driver side.

The reason I bring it up because when you look at the Nissan marque, if the car was made in Japan is had the gas cap on the right hand side. If the vehicle was made in the US it has it on the left. Seems like more of a money saving technique than a style choice.

I didn't know Nissans were like that. All of my Toyotas and Hondas have it on the driver's side.

Beautiful car. How generous to let BM drive the car. I think that may be one of the best interiors from an aesthetic design standpoint (love the exposed shifter).

Was that some sort of european car meet over the weekend?

Anybody noticed that nowadays the steering wheel is the Lotus Elise wheel?

I like the combination of the original propeller steering wheel and four point seat belts better.

A funny detail is that the Elise steering wheel is smaller than the Spyker wheel.

I personally love the side inlet tubes. Luigi Chinetti put some on the front of my dad's old 63 Elan but smaller. I would buy that car just because of that look. I was put off when I saw that early review from Top Gear about the handling but if it's been resolved, even better! Audi 525hp is fine by me. Those two entered in ALMS back in 05 were schweet! I got pics somewhere.

Actually, that's an Audi 4.2 400 hp in Rijk's car.

The C12 Laturbie, which I don't think is currently being produced, had the Audi/VW 6.0 W-12 with 500hp or so.

I've heard rumors of supercharging to come soon, but I don't know how that is materializing.

I just noticed it has manufacturer plates. Does your friend work for Spyker? That would be a great perk ... to bring a C8 Spyder home.

Funny, I just a new one in the shop at NE in Costa Mesa yesterday. I guess they make several trips to service, since they sit on the lot for so long. Kevin at NE said they only sell one or two a year. I'm not a big fan of the pointy, Maserati-style front end, but love every other part of it. And the sound of that engine...

Don, who used to work at NE, told me once that he'd never seen a car (any car, and he's worked on the best) as nicely put-together, from a quality standpoint, as the Spyker.

You may like the C8 Aileron then A bit different, not quite as pointy...
