Old Fiat 500 sites?

I'm on a kick to investigate buying an old Fiat 500, but I don't know anything about the cars except that I like the way they look.

It makes more "practical" sense to buy an old Mini instead, but the Fiats are quirkier and less common in the States. Of course, that likely makes it far more difficult to obtain parts. This is one of my concerns.

I've searched for sites and forums on old Fiat 500's but haven't been very successful at finding anything useful. In particular, I'm looking for a list of things to look for or consider when shopping, some idea of what it's like to drive and own an old 500, and cars for sale.

Any suggestions?

This gives me a new starting place, though. Much appreciated.

Was at Concorso Italino over the weekend. Saw several. Looks like the owner of a local karting place has one (also owns a Elise). You could try shooting him a email via

info@lemanskarting.com.

You could also try the Fiat America Club (NorCA based)-

FIAT America

One of the Fiat guys that autox with us also sells Fiat parts and cars (had a booth at Concorso). I'll dig up his contact info and PM you, with it.
