The Lotus will stand on it's own and the R&T test will disappear. I don't think too many of us really care what R&T think.
Top Gear to me gives a much better since of what the car is. Most seem to agree there is something fishy about the test. You find a tuned/ dialed in ExigeS240 that has been put on a diet and it will perform extremely well. An example would be Shinoo's car on Supercars Exposed. BTW - does anyone know how much the touring pack (leather seats, sound dampening, etc.) weighs over the non touring.

The ACR vs st10 is like a cup car to the elise.
At least thats how I would compare it...Acr is race preped version of a high performing car.

Well, the ACR doesn't have any power upgrades like in the past. Just body kit, suspension, and some weight reduction.
It'd be like an standard Elise w/ touring compared to a Sport Elise with some Sector111 aero parts, no touring and maybe a stage II exhaust.

^haha,
thats what some people said about the S2000 hopped up car. Forgot the name. All they did was put it one a diet and change the aeros...that was good for a couple of seconds off your lap time. I thought I ready that the ACR has over 1000 lbs of down force. That is SIGNIFICANTLY different than the srt10. Racing isnt about power...its about keeping the car on the road. Checkout the redline time attack. Manly on this forum with a nearly stock na elise was FAST. This was on the SoCal Speedway Roval...a track known as a "horsepower" track. 2008/07/19 - 2008/07/20 Auto Club Speedway Roval - Redline Time Attack - Page 11 - trackHQ.com - The Central Archives of Track Day Photos, Videos, and more........

The Exige got whooped. Evo fans have to love how well their car performs. The Lambo is perfect, just spot on perfect.
I enjoy my lotus though. Power, handling, good looks, and cost. Its still a completely different feeling than anything that I have ever driven. Having too much damn fun to care if our "team" lost.

That's funny!
![]() ![]() ![]() It almost made reading these pages of mental masturbation worth it. BTW, the only fair way for mags to test cars is to make sure the alignment is correct and the tire pressures are right. Adjusting cars' suspensions seems to me to be a giant can or worms. Out of the box is how it has to be, no? This is part of the reasons Con Reports buys their cars vs getting from mfgrs.
