Some nice options. I've thought a lot about the Quattroporte, reliability is a concern. Coupes are out... The Jaguar XJ-R has been on my radar as well, I've always liked them. The Arnage is still in my mind but perhaps SweetDaddyD has a point...but I could care less how it comes across, more interested in the car for myself.

Do what I do, own more than 1 car.
![]() You can pick up a used 4dr audi A4 for instance for very cheap, and keep the Lotus. If you have the cash, there's a LOT of "nice" used family sedans in the 10k-15k range. If you need something big, SUVs are tanking in price right now. If you're looking for something more unusual and planning on keeping the Lotus, how about a Mini? AM Lagonda has to be the hands down winner.
E500 is the sh*t! I love those older ones.

![]() Personally if I was in that position I would pick up a used cheap 4 door to have around and keep the Lotus. Or if you are getting rid of the Lotus go out and buy a 4X4 truck or SUV and put a nice 3" body lift and 12" suspension lift on it.

So you have an XB and a Lotus? I don't get it then, why get rid of the Lotus? You got something you can safely carry the kiddo around in. Or is that the wife's vehicle?
In any case, sorry to get off topic.

Err...they're making you sell it? Not trying to stick my nose in your business, but why are you giving them what they want? What does it matter to them?

If you have a box and an Elise, you're all set. That's the same combo that I had a few years ago.
Are your "in-laws" paying for any of these cars? Because if not, then they have no say in what you drive. What kind of people pressure a family member to sell a car that they don't like? Wow. |
