It is admitted by all that he was much addicted to women, as well as very expensive in his intrigues with them, and that he debauched many ladies of the highest quality; among whom were Posthumia, the wife of Servius Sulpicius; and Lollia, the wife of Aulus Gabinius.

I can't wait Mike!
Jim, Mike was there although I didn't see him. I got there just in time to drive through town in the pouring rain.

I went to the Kohler Int, event and saw a few GT 40's there. Absolutely beautiful cars that sounded great! (Unfortunatelly I missed to meet Mike there)

Probably a dumb question but is it built by Ford?

hey swede, sorry i missed ya....
most of the gt40's you will see are replicas. mine is made by superformance. they are considered a high quality "kit car." they come as a complete rolling chassis minue engine and trans. they are built at the same plant in south africa that the nobles/rossions are built.
my gt40 is technically considered a "continuation car." it is titled as a 1966 gt40.

the orignal gt40s were made by ford through the mid 60s. an original could cost as much as 2 million dollars depending on the cars history.

Back in the 60's, you could byu street-legal versions of the GT-40.

There are still openings at Blackhawk Farms in September with MVP Track Time. I'll bring my helmet.

As my neighbor kid said when I gave him a ride when I first got my Elise "The ride is best experienced from the passenger seat!"

finally caught up w/this thread

Gorgeous iconic cars!!

917 video was great.

GT40 power/wt ratio is WOW, but likely too fast for me.

I buy only 2 seaters w/removable tops, personal quirk.

Moto's head seems a bit small.

Congrats, Mike, it's a beauty!

This 1960's technology would beat the modern GT in a race? Some one mentioned this earlier. I wondered if it was correct...

Mmmm... probably not. I don't own either one, but I've had back-to-back on-track rides in a Superformance GT-40 and a new Ford GT. The GT-40 was loud, hot, stiff... brutal. Acceleration? Off the charts. Braking? Sufficient, but you could tell they were working.... hard.

With my underwear still clean (mostly), I exited the GT-40 and hopped into the Ford GT.

Holy.
Crap.

The acceleration was FAR more brutal. First gear was mostly useless, and we hit 120-130 on the straight on that itty bitty track at Firebird West.... the one behind the autox lot. Holy jeez, that thing was simply nuclear.

Ford GT FTW!

That said, I don't know how worked over their Superformance GT-40 was... it was a silver MK2. Awesome car. These guys brought five cars in the biggest toy hauler I had ever seen! Fun day.
