CMRRA
If it has an engine, people race it. Tim blah someone already posted it. I used to race in this association before I moved to Texas in 1997. Stock class is very competitive. I giggled like a school girl the first time I dragged my knee going around a corner. Last edited by Timmah : 03-12-2009 at 01:03 AM. |

*sigh* Back in 1987, I bought a new one off the showroom floor. Was my first "New" toy. at the age of 18. Added bigger carb, sprocket, pipe, etc. I loved that thing. Like others, I wish I had never sold it. A very unique little toy. *double sigh*
Cheers, Skottoman

Still looking?
Kaz,
Are you still looking for a pristine condition YSR50? I have a factory stock (NO mods at all), immaculate condition, not a scratch on it, YSR50 that I have decided to sell. If you are interested, let me know. Thanks. Chris |

Where are you located? I have always loved YSR's even though I probably would look like a gorilla riding a tricycle on it.

back in 1989 when i raced with AMACCS here in AZ they had a class for these guys.
there were about 6 of them running. they got a track set up that was smaller than firebird (main) using part of the front straight, and the hotpit to comprise the track. thinking back it looked like good fun, and less dangerous than the big fast bikes, but at the time I was 20 years old, full of testosterone, and thought it was dumb compared to the big bikes i was racing. funny how things change, because no way would i roadrace a big bike nowadays, but the YSR50, i might throw a leg over and go racing. I bet if you looked up CCS in california they still have a class for those things to run in. get one and have fun!!!

Done after the videos. he's the one in the olive flight suit and blue snowboarding helmet. i didn't know that there was a 50cc YSR bike. when my dad and i were shopping for a small bike for me in the late 80s, they only had the YSR80 and i could not reach the floor when sitting on it, so i settled for the smaller Suzuki GSX R50. it's still with me and running. and now that i have a son, i guess the bike will wait another 10 years before someone rides it again. it's in pristine condition.
i also have a suzuki 50cc quad from 1986. |

I'm located in the Los Angeles area. The YSR50 is a real head turner. Every once in a while I ride it down to the gas station to fill it up and every time someone (or two) comes over and admires the bike and asks questions. One time I pulled up next to a guy filling up his Ducati Desmodeci. If you are not familiar with this bike, google it. Base price, +/- $75K, with add-ons, a few up-grades, tax, etc., this guy may have been close to $100k. VERY rare to say the least. Anyway, I was talking to him about his exotic Italian work of art while 2 people were looking at my YSR50. One of them came over and started to ask me a bunch of questions about my bike. The guy on the Duc and I kinda chuckled. I guess you had to be there, but it was funny.

Had one when I was about 13. Jet kit, pipe, 110 leaded fuel. Went pretty good. Some jerkoff stole it.
