2bular 4-2-1 Header anyone?

Has anyone installed this?? This is looking like my best bet. My only question is that it will fit the 2bular de-cat but I have a larini de-cat. Wonder if that will work. Price is 1k. Somebody chime in here

No, will need a new de-cat.

Price is the same as on blackwatch site for decat, but is made to fit their headers.

Here is a pic from r10crw on the mm side for reference. Completely different mounting systems from the de-cats that attach to the stock headers.

hmm I believe that is the big bore version for the supercharged elise/exige. Although Im sure fitment for de-cat is the same. Shoot now my price has gone up a bit more

I'm going to buy one soon. Not exactly sure how much it is. I know someone who's got it on his Gotham'ed Exige S and it's given him additional 20hp with retune, of course. He's got 2B sport cat, 2B exhaust and cup air box. I think he's at 253whp.

oh...and the header weighs the same as the stock shorty.

I have a friend that fitted it on the car, it works good and very very great look but it seems no good for heavy duty use. The main problem on the Exige is to brake the header like happened with Janspeed on my old N/A car (7000km and was gone). For my Exige S I bought the P.B. Racing 4 by 1 header (+12hp on the dyno) it is very good and 12000km without problems. Now they are developing a new one longer but probably only for racing.

if you install stiffer motor mounts, that may solve the problem of the header & cat breaking.

The main problem is that the all exhuast is very very short and restricted in a very little space, when you run at full gas the temperature is about 900° and the inox needs space to move. It cracks not for vibration but when the temperature go very high and then go down. You can fit locked engine mount but the problem is the same. On my old Exige I fitted very stiff engine mount but I broke two 4 by 2 by1 headers after 7000km.

Ciao

If you're referring to Domenico, it was his Larini header that broke. He's now replaced it with a 2bular 4-1 and as far as I know, he's happy. A proper flexy section, placed in the right position will take the stresses. btw the 4-1 is for the Supercharged installs, the 4-2-1 is for the n/a cars.
