FWIW -- comparison of sound within car of 8x24" vs 6x18", GT3 2bular mufflers -- on track videos.

Video 1 (Buttonwillow)-- 6x18" 2bular:

Video 2 (Laguna Seca) -- 8x24" 2bular: btw, this 8x24" could not meet Laguna's 92db maximum sound requirement -- I believe it was measured at ~ 94db:

I know, Mr. Know -- at full throttle, they don't sound that much different (perhaps due to their identical straight-thru design).

It wasn't on the car for Laguna ... so I have no measurement using the exact same parameters. But, from outside the car, it's between 100-102db measured by a Radio Shack meter from ~40 feet (off to the right side of the car) on a pass-by run.

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. Sounds about perfect for what I'm looking for. Now I got to sell this 8"... At least I'm keeping Jim in business.

Maybe its something with the videos, but the 8" vid has a more pronounced sound, whereas the 6" vid has more supercharger whine.

If it's an above exit exhaust I'd go 6" for noise. Actually with my 4" I never heard the exhaust above the supercharger, but then again I'm spinning it pretty high.
You have a 4"? He can custom make them? So the 4" must be the loudest out of the 8" and 6" right?

I was supposed to be a 4.5 Ultra, but it measures outside at 4". Yes it's loud. 108db just reving in the parking lot @ 20ft away. That was no load. It's sold now, the new owner is gonna love it probably as much as I'm gonna miss it.

It wasn't bad for me in the car. 0 drone, and at full throttle I could only hear the SC. The above exit exhausts are alot more quieter inside the car than the bottom exit ones. In the car the stage2 with cat was twice as loud as my 4" Ultra with no cat.

really? that's surprising. The 3" I had on there was practically murder every time and I had to wear earplugs.

My SC is spinning pretty fast though. I can't hear anything other than SC whine and air being sucked into the intake at WOT. Unless I'm under an overpass, then it sounds just plain awesome. Which is why I don't like the 8", it's not loud enough to overcome my 2.9 pulley SC whine.

Installed my 2bular GT3 6X18 exhaust. Sounds great on the road and the track. Like it much better than my GT3 8X24, except for long drives where ear plugs would be a must. If it ever stops raining in the NE I'll shoot a video and post.

Yes please, some videos would me helpful!
Can you post also some more pics in order to check the distance between the bottom of muffler and the diffuser panel? Is the carbon not too hot when you drive hard???

Thx

Drove my car to the track yesterday (90 miles each way) and ran four 25 minute run groups. No problems with anything getting hot......but then you have to realize that there is LOTS of airflow with everything removed in the rear. Will post more pics when I get a chance.

Hello.

Did you had the opportunity to make other pics and maybe a video of the 6" x 18?
