Anyone with De-Cat and stock exhaust?

I have an NA 06 Elise and I thinking of a Larini de-cat but I read an old thread that someone tried a decat and it damaged their stock muffler? I dont see why a decat would damage a muffler. anyone experience this?

Also,
I wanted to know your input based on sound vs stock.
did it get alot louder? Im thinking a decat + Stock will be quiter than with aftermarket exhaust.

did it add any drone in the cabin?

Did you feel any power gains/loss anywhere in the powerband?

thanks

Decat+stock muffler is much quieter than most aftermarket mufflers with a cat.

It is WAY quieter than cat+stage3 on an S car.

No drone. On my S car under full throttle outside you mostly hear the supercharger and don't really hear much exhaust. I think it is way too quiet, I was shocked removing the cat did not make more of a difference.

Overall the sound is better than stock, however it is still very stock-ish.

I think I felt some low end grunt go away, but the very top was a little stronger. I did not dyno before/after so I have no numbers to prove it.

I have a decat + stage 1 and it is my daily driver and it's great. When you are just putting around town its not that loud and no drone at all. Theres some nice gurgles and pops when you let off the gas. When you are WOT though, it sounds pretty mean especially with the supercharger and green filter. I highly recommend removing the cat even if you are in california like me

Do you have a NA Elise or supercharged?
Im new here but those Charlie make a custom tune for mods?
Cause the only tune i see for an '06 NA elise is the lower Cam change.
