Thanks for the advice...and the insult.

Oh, I love the overpass/tunnel noise, I just don't want loud all of the time. Loud burbles and pops after almost every shift gets tiresome.

I think I may give the 2bular 8x24 a try.

Eric,
I would recommend the 2bular 8x24 for you as well. As BM suggested talk to Fred at Blackwatch or Jim from 2bular. I have no doubt that they can set you up with the perfect exhaust to fit your needs. The stock exhaust is such a pig as far as weight that I would never even think of entertaining going back to stock.

cheers,
Jacob

I'm looking forward to adding a little whine into the mix
You'll love adding some whine into the mix.

Cup Airbox + Supercharger + Arqray Twin =

Don't know much about the Arqrays, but we felt that this Larini S Club Sport was definitely engineered and designed for the supercharged series of Loti for those that wanted a thru the diffusor exit.

no soundbites yet. life is busy.

yes, we are running the stock cat.

We posted a pix and review of the exhaust previously on this forum.

search, my dear.
I'm looking closely at the Larini S Club Sport, but I don't want to drown out the supercharger whine. How pronounced is the sound for the Elise SC with the stock exhaust? Secondly, can you still hear it well with the Club Sport installed? Since you had second thoughts about the intake sound, I'm guessing you can still hear it.

Yeah, I forgot about the weight of the stock exhaust... It's pretty darn heavy compared to aftermarket.

Hi Eric -
I'm in the same situation too. I put on an Arqray Twin and it's too loud. I like it when I'm on the throttle or in a tunnel, but it's loud all the time. I bought mine used so it was already broken in, and I've put a couple thousand miles on it since. I still like it better than stock though. Let us know if you try the 2ublar.

Just a note on the 2bular. For the above diffuser exit it's quieter in cabin, but louder behind the vehicle. This is for the 4.5" Ultra compared to a stage2 diffuser exit.

I guess the low exit reverbs off the concrete or something...

I've never seen or driven in the Arqray twin-tip exhaust. But, I've driven or have been a passenger of Elises with stock, the stage 2, quiksilver SS, and Arqray single tip. The quiksilver SS sounds just like the factory, just louder, the stage 2 is much deeper and louder throughout the rev-range, and the Arqray single tip is very quiet until you decide to floor it and you are high in the rpm range. If you haven't already, I do suggest you look into the Arqray single tip. With this exhaust, I was able to carry conversation without raising my voice in traffic (I feel it is quiter than stock around town), but once you want to really move, it comes to live. The stage two is simply loud, loud, loud all the time (which makes it annoying for some) Keep us updated with your decision either way.

I have ordered the 2bular 8x24 with the stock-look, through-the-stock diffuser, oval tip exhaust. It will take about 10 weeks to get here though! Apparently they are made to order in Scotland by Jim (the owner). Fred @ Blackwatch Racing that sells Jim's exhausts likes to quote: "If it's not Scottish, it's CRAP!!" ...convinced me.

I purchased a Borla last winter, and it was too loud for restricted noise level track, but the sound was nice.

I decided to take the stock unit, open it to modify a little the interior, and I removed the twin exhaust pipe, and replaced it by a 2 1/2 single tip in order to be able to adjust the sound level at the track with a Supertrapp Disc only muffler tips. The sound is very nice, but the exhaust is heavy.

I just got a PM from Jim @ 2bular. He said that I will have my exhaust "in hand" by Friday, October 24th. I placed my order with Blackrock Racing on October 1st. That's only 23 days - not bad!!
