Arqray Twin Too Loud

I just installed an Arqray Twin cat-back, and it is too loud. I expected/wanted it to be loud at WOT, but it is loud all of the time. Even short-shifting and applying very little throttle, gives loud pops and gurgles between gears, which might be tolerable once in while, but it is all of the time and practically every shift. I was told the Arqray Twin is one of the quieter systems out there. I hate being one of those annoying people making tons of noise in traffic just puttering down to the grocery store. The stock system had no personality at all, but this is worse. I will switch back to stock if I can not find a suitable replacement. The other system that I was considering before this one was the new Larini Clubsport S. Any thoughts?

I've found that the stock exhaust is sounding better and better as I put on the miles... I set off alarms in our garage with the stock exhaust!

Stock exhaust is pretty good. I like the sound. I wonder if there's some performance advantage to be had getting another exhaust, with the nitrous boost.

Not to worry. After a few hundred break-in miles, the exhaust will sound a lot better. Mine droned a bit when it's new but after a while it gets quiter and make pretty tone at high rpm.

I went back to the stock exhaust while I was getting my twin repaired, and did not remember how sedate the stock was/is. When I put the twin back on it does get a little tiresome when I am just driving sedately through the neighborhood. But in the back country, I would not be without it.

With the Exige it's hard to find an exhaust that isn't "boomey" it's just the shape of the rear hatch etc really transmits sounds into the cabin. The only way to avoid this resonance is to go with a high pitched sounding exhaust like the Arqray single. The problem with this though is that I personally think it sounds like a little pig in low rpms. I have the Larini Club sport and it's one of the quieter exhausts. There is some droning though when you cruise in the higher gears.

I have the Larini sport 8". It's quiet considering the company it keeps.
I went to the 8" from the Larini se, which was very loud.

The quietest is the 2bular 8"by24".

Are you running a cat?

2bular makes some nice, quiet exhausts. If you don't like noise, I seriously don't recommend the Lotus stage II. It is pretty loud. Contact Fred @ Blackwatch Racing for 2bular products.

We have the new Larini S Club Sport and like it very much. We were running it de-snorkeled, and that was a bit too loud, plus the tonal balance sounded a bit odd; not quite right.
We re-installed the snorkel with a K&N, and now it sound greats; almost stealthy at idle, but growly when romped, and gurgling at let-off from hi revs.

Don't know much about the Arqrays, but we felt that this Larini S Club Sport was definitely engineered and designed for the supercharged series of Loti for those that wanted a thru the diffusor exit.

no soundbites yet. life is busy.

yes, we are running the stock cat.

We posted a pix and review of the exhaust previously on this forum.

search, my dear.

I can't drive under enough overpasses, or through enough tunnels with my Arqray twin and race header! I guess it's a matter of personal opinion

I'm looking forward to adding a little whine into the mix

Anyway, you shouldn't have any problem getting rid of your Arqray-
