Back to stock after rear delete?

Looking to find out if anyone has gone back to the stock rear panel, after doing a rear delete. Also If you removed/cut the heatshield, how did you go back to 'stock'?

Would replacing the rear panel after cutting off the rear heatshield part cause problems?

I'm soon going to be doing a rear delete on my car, and wonder if I have options to go back to stock should I not like it for some reason.
Cheers,
Skottoman

I did not have to cut anything to remove the heatshield, it's in my attic intact. I left the two side panels on, and had to drill out two rivets on each side (easy). So I only deleted the center panel behind the license plate. If I had removed the whole thing and not separated the side panels, I am sure it could go back on intact, and fairly quickly. Picture available, but I'm not at home now.

If you only removed that portion of the heat sheild that is attached to the rear panel, I doubt there would be any impliciations when you replace it other than a hot liscence plate.

I was able to remove my entire heat shield in one piece. I had to drill two rivets that connected to a bracket under the floor of the boot becaue I was unable to get to the bolt that mounted the bracket to the chassis of the car. I also had to rotate my muffler a bit. I am sure I could get it back to stock, two beer job.

Pix would be cool of how you separated the center part of the heatshielding.

Here are some requested pics of the "partial" rear panel delete. I apologize for the quality, I just snapped them in my garage with a cheap camera and a strobe. Better to come.

This is the removed center panel, and where the two rivets were removed, per side
