I called Borla a year ago and asked if they were going to make an Elise Exhaust.
There response was they have no plans at this time. Be cool if they change their mind.

It turns out that Borla is 5 minutes away from my work. I decided to find out as much as I can for the EliseTalk community.
1. The system is not officially out yet. They should be shipping out EARLY 2007, realistically mid-January 2007. They didn't even have any at their facility for me to see. 2. Weight of the system is 15 lbs. 3. Sound Levels: It measures 101.95 db under SAE standard J1169 measurements. They claim this is only 1.35 db louder than stock. According to Sector111, the stock exhaust is 101 db @ 6200RPM. 4. It is stainless steel, straight-through, perforated core. 5. You can purchase direct from Borla for $799. The guy advised me to purchase somewhere else where it might be cheaper. Summit Racing currently advertises: $713.99 Estimated Ship Date: 1/9/07

Hi there,
Thought I'd resurrect this thread. On the Borla site, they have put up picture of the actual exhaust part (part#14208). Has anybody purchase this yet? I'm really interested if we could hear a sound clip of it. CP4foryou, since you're 5 minutes away from this guys, is there anyway you could persuade those guys to send us a sound clip? Thanks

Just my opinion for what its worth. I had a Borla on my Viper and not only did it sound great but it added significant horsepower, so it was a decent investment. As much as I would really like impoved sound, I can't justify significant cost if there is no power increase, which is how I understand it on the Elise. Just my personal opinion.

Oh Yes, a dyno would be definitely appreciated. We wouldn't want to be losing horsepower now do we
. cpforyou, when you get yours, please share with us all the details.

Borla happen to be just 1 mile out of the way when I drove home from work, so I dropped by Borla to find out when I'd be able to get a hand on the Borla Exhaust for the Lotus Elise.
I hope to get a hold of one in the next couple weeks. However, I'd thought I'd snap a picture of their mailbox for your enjoyment. It is exhaust piping that comes out of the ground and into a muffler that has been gutted out, and the end of it made into a door.
